Help my Interceptor list

By DutchBassie, in X-Wing Squad Lists

100 point build help me improve it:

Soontir Fel 37pAb, reads When you receive stress token you may assign 1 focus token.

Stealth device

shield upgrade

Royal tie

Push the limit

Carnoy Jax 36p Ab, reads Enemy ships at range 1 cannot preform focus or evade actions and cannot spend focus or evade tokens

Stealth device

shield upgrade

Royal tie

Push the limit

Kir Kanos 27p ab, reads When attacking at Range 2-3 you may spend evade token to add 1 hit result to you roll

Stealth device

Kir Kanos unfortunately is not a strong ship for this type of build. He doesn't like repositioning because he wants to evade as much as possible, and ultimately he dies quick whether he uses the evade offensively or defensively since he has only the one action.

Your other two ships are extremely slippery, but cannot support each other. They work best flying far a part taking opportunity shots in positions where they can't get shot at (or not much). To make this type of list work, you need a third slippery, arc-dodging ship. Before, your only real option was Turr Phenir. Now you can throw in the Inquisitor (TIE advanced prototype) as a third wheel.

Three Amigos original list:

Fel w/ push, royal, stealth & autothrusters = 35

Jax w/ push, royal stealth (or hull) & autos = 34

Turr w/ push & autos = 30

99

Three amigos w/ inquisitor:

Fel & Jax as above = 69

Inquisitor w/ push, V-1 title & autos = 31

100

The only problem with these lists is that they are EXTREMELY skill dependent. Make any errors in predicting your opponent's moves, and your ships die. Expect to lose a lot as you learn how to get the most out of them. Flying them can teach you a lot about the game, but you have to not mind losing a lot. Because that's part of the process...

Good luck!

thnx for the advice 1 problem that ship isn't released yet

Personally, I think you need a ship that you can joust a bit with to anchor your approach and have something to flank around. I would keep Fel and Jax and trim points (Autothrusters) to add a Bounty Hunter with Gunner or a generic Defender. Maybe it is me, but I just don't do well with all arc-dodgers. Someone winds up getting killed right away in the initial joust.

Won't be long....

There's nothing wrong with going that route, but you have to accept that its quite possible that you will lose your one tanky ship early against focussed fire (since its the easiest to pin down). Probably won't happen against 2-3 ship builds, but strong jousting lists can kill even the tankiest firespray/defender/whatever fairly quick with concentrated shots.

To make a 3 flankers list work, you have to be cautious. Delay your approach until you are certain which flanker your opponent is going for (you deploy one in each corner and the third in the middle of the table). Once it looks like your opponent has committed, that one runs away while the other two get behind the enemy. If the enemy changes targets, the one running turns around and the new target runs. That's the idea anyway...

Of course in a timed environment, that's a tough way to win. I think that's part of the reason you don't see this list often in tourneys. Sometimes though its worth sacrificing one of your ships if you can do a lot of damage in return (as long as you can get a point lead, you can win on time...)

Thnx ill give it a run against my neighbor

SD isn't actually stealth device

It's Soontir Device or **** Device

Don't trust green dice; soonts only gets a pass due to his ability providing focus

OK yesterday i ran my squad up against this scum squad.

2x black sun soldier z95

1x Ywing Cavil with Stealth device auto blaster turret Push the limit unhinged astro

1x Mandalorian Mercenary Firespray with gunner.

I started dancing and hopping out of range and arc's and started chipping at the firespray.

My 3 agility upgraded by 1 and keeping in range 3 aka 4-5 dice defence did protect me very well.

After 6 rounds or so i had to burry Soontir but in the 7th round i made the firespray turn into dust AND shot down 1 of the (fully healthy) black sun soldiers with Kir Kanos and his ability, 4 hits bye soldier.

after this round it was like taking candy from a baby........
