The core set is the best box so far. Everyone needs at least one, I recommend two (I have four, but that's another story).

One of each is a good recommendation. Plus a second set of Saboteurs, if you want to play skirmish.

If you want to Play mercs in skirmish, the Elite Tuskens (1 unit per Twin Shadows) and the Regular Trandoshans (1 unit per core box) are great.

If you want to play Imperials, 2 core boxes are minimum, and a second Hoth set is very good, too.

So far none of the blister packs have included floor tiles. For the most part the blister packs provide mini's to replace the character tokens from the box sets. Depending on the faction they will come with either an agenda set or a side mission. For the skirmish part of the game they will provide two scenerios and some command cards to use. I suggest just going with the core set. If you enjoy the game then you can pick up the wave one packs which will replace the character tokens in the core set. Get the expansion sets is good if your group wants more characters to choose from. Enjoy yourself.

I also think Obi Wan Kenobi from the prequels and clone wars is the awesome bomb-diggity-dong.

Well, if they released a Clone Wars edition of the game, Ben would be an excellent candidate for an ally piece. I honestly thing Disney may be trying to pave under the prequels too, though, so dont hold your breath. That would be sad, because while the movie were not that great, the setting and backdrop was awesome. (But that's a rant for another time)

I will only be playing campaign with the wife most likely, so I will get the core box, then the 2 expansions, and then work through one each of the upgrade packs.

Obi-Wan and Jango are the only thing I like from the NT. Perhaps there should be a time-traveling story or something. JK, that would be aweful.

I purchased the core box, and all of the wave 1 blister packs for the campaign in the core box. I would prefer not to use tokens when the minis are available. With about 30 games in my collection, and playing 1 - 2 times per month, it's unlikely that I will get through the core box content anytime soon. I am nowhere close to needing the two box expansions nor their character blister packs.

I have never tried the skirmish game, as I prefer the 4 vs 1 mission setup for me and those I invite to play the game.

I'd recommend getting Boba Fett, because he's awesome.
