Choosing Hero's for First Campaign run

By hendersondayton, in Imperial Assault Campaign

I own the Core, Twin Shadows, and RtH.

My son and I have been playing Skirmish exclusively since the core came out and we decided we wanted to attempt a campaign starting with the core.

The question is, can we use Hero's from TS or RtH to run thru the Core campaign or should we stick with the hero's from the core?

My thought is to use the hero's that came with each set as they may have been geared for each campaign. Then, when going to a new campaign, start fresh with a new set of Hero's. But my son likes a few of the newer Hero's.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

No reason that you couldn't use the RtH heroes for the core campaign.

What about the number of Heros? We only have two people (me and my son) so he would have to control 3 hero's himself. I think that would be manageable.

I don't think that really matters... it might be easier for him to juggle 2 Rebs with legendary status instead of 3 Rebs with heroic status or 4 normal Rebs. But if you're going to just have one Rebel player, I don't know that it'll make a huge difference.

The main thing to follow would be the rules for activation order. If he's playing with 2 or 3 Rebs, no one Rebel can activate twice in a row. So if he's controlling Mak and Diala, he'd have to activate Mak, Diala, Mak, Diala, for example. He couldn't do Mak, Mak, Diala, Diala. Same rule would apply if he's Mak, Diala, and Finn. Couldn't be Mak, Diala, Diala, Finn.

My wife and I play and she runs two Rebel heroes, and I'm the Imperial. She wins most missions, but I always win in the end. :)

Samsies.

I think controlling 3 heroes singlehandedly might get too overwhelming near the end when each hero has lots of abilities and items bought - would be too hard to follow for 3 separate heros

I agree. He is 8, so it may get a bit overwhelming.
