What Excites You About Imperial Veterans?

By That One Guy, in X-Wing

Everything. Red Defender, new titles, Bomber upgrades, the new pilots, it's all exciting to me!

Mostly a third Defender & some upgrades for it. Can't wait!

I plan to get two sets, that will give me a total of 4 Bombers and 5 Defenders. This makes me happy.

I like your style sir!

I always loved playing with Rexler, and I love using Rex and Vessery as wingmen in Epic games. I'm excited for all the epic choices that are gonna come about from this, especially being able to field some generics that will be better than the sum of their parts.

Also again, gotta say it, super stoked for Epic bomber runs. I think more than half my epic list is gonna be stuff from Imperial Veterans.

I'm imagining that the two homing missiles will go excellently with any ship taking LRS, seeing as you don't need to expend your TL to fire them. TL in the opening round, focus when you get close, only spend your TL if you will be able to reacquire it the next round. Just keep pumping them full of Homing Missiles or Advanced Homing Missiles, are range requires.

You might be surprised how far a 5 K-turn will take you. Of course, it depends on how close you were to begin with, but you get the picture. I don't think it will be too crazy to get another TL. It might not always be at who you most want it, but is there a bad person to TL? If you are at longer range for the TL, it also means you can possibly fire at them that turn, or soon.

With the preview of the Tractor Beam rules we've just gotten, the TIE/D really looks like an interesting battlefield control choice, because being able to reposition an enemy ship is HUGE

Yep. All my disinterest in the Tractor Beam is 100% gone. Push someone onto a rock, out of arc, into/out of range 1. There's probably dozens of other uses.

The best part will be the warm fuzzy feeling we get when stresshog players start complaining about how strong Imperial control is

Vessery is going to be a monster.

Outmaneuver, for example, will become easier to trigger

Vessery is going to be a monster.

They're also going to be great fun to fly against, since it forces you to change how you think about obstacles.

True. You can use more Debris Fields to try to double stress someone. Might be better than putting them on a rock...maybe.

It does make the Vessery + FO mini-swarm even more hilarious, since you can toss a ship around so it's in arc for your little friends

I think my Ruthlessness Tractor Beam Vessery is going to fly alongside TIE Bombers. They set up TLs earlier, they're gonna need those hit points.

I'm mostly joking as I will buy it (to have a complete collection). And the guy I play is always the empire, and it will likely be a bad thing for me.

... is well worth the gain of Imperial Veterans!

Oh man, I can't stand to wait! I know they said that it would be released in Quarter 1. My guess would be near the very end of that quarter if they stay on track. But i wanna know things noooowww! When are we gonna get a second spoiler article? I'm very curious to see what Systems Officer does.

I'm interested in the gear and cards more, but those are some healthy new ships.

i would have to say that i'm semi interested, i love the stuff for the Defender but i think the stuff for the Bomber is C**P!

TIE Fighter was one of my favorite games as a kid, so Maarek piloting the Defender is what I'm really looking forward to in this set. It also gives me hope that there will be a Corran Horn pilot card for the X-wing in the next rebel set

The TIE Shuttle is something that I think is going to have more value the longer it's around.

As new releases come out, new Crew upgrades will be introduced, and having a cheap Crew carrier is always going to have value.

You misspelled $60.

Colonel Vessery snagging Soontir Fel with a Crack Shot Tractor Beam and pulling the Baron into the maw of his formation, so Vessery in his TIE/D and his TIE/x7 escorts cause 35 points to evaporate in a glorious explosion.

Probably not by me, though... I'm terrible with Defenders and don't much expect that to change because they still want to fly faster than I can handle.

With Deadeye and GC, you are always a threat.

The Inquisitor's TIE includes Deadeye, Thread Tracers, and Guidance Chips. The Inquisitore is the real Ordnance fix expansion.

And why the heck does it include 2 copies of TIE Shuttle? What kind of list do they expect us to run with that? Especially for those buying 2 copies. What can you do with 4 TIE Shuttles? I am equal parts annoyed and curios.

Bombs are getting a fix too! Except it is a Rebel only crew that improves options for K-wings and B-wings. 2 ships that were already better than Punishers and Bombers and didn't need a damage boost.
