I like the Y-wing, and need more of it (for Rebels). Here are some ideas I'd like to see make it into this game in the future.

I've seen people suggest that a small ship with a crew slot, turret, and astromech would be overpowered.

Just looking at all the available Rebel crew that could ride along, I'd say it wouldn't be that bad. I can't speak for how these cards might interact with Scum crew and Salvaged Astromechs, but I'd imagine they wouldn't break the game.

Subtract the astromech slot from your list and you've the K-Wing. I doubt there are many out there who claim the K-Wing is overpowered.

But the astromech slot is what completes the insanity. R2-D2 on Miranda would be absurd. R5-P9 + Recon Specialist would also be absurd on anything with a crew slot and mech slot. And these are just things from off the top of my head. I'm sure there's gotta be an insane combo or 2 for R3-A2 + crew as well.

While the Y-wing is lacking a bit in pilots, it certainly is not in usage. For that reason, I don't forsee it being revisited for a long while.

Edit: Found it! TLT + Tactician + R3-A2 +BTL-A4 = 5 stress. Ya. Don't think we want that possibility.

I wouldn't call it overpowered. You're spending a ton of points on a 1 agility ship that melts quickly.

I would just be happy with Horton having an ept slot. Without relying on the astromech.

I had some pilot ideas earlier. I really want more named pilots for the y-wing, or some rebels with the EPT slot.... here is what I had earlier.

Davish Krail, Y-Wing... "Stay on target..."

PS 7, turret, two torpedoes, astromech, EPT

"When you receive a stress token, 1 other ship at range 1 must receive a stress token."

Tiree, Y-Wing... "Computer's locked, getting a signal!"

PS3, turret, two torpedoes, astromech

"1 critical result from friendly torpedo weapon attacks cannot be canceled if you have a target lock on the defender."

Telsij, Y-Wing... "There's too many of them!"

PS5, turret, two torpedoes, astromech, EPT

"At the end of the activation phase, if you are inside the firing arc of at least two enemy ships, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll action."

Ca-... can I just claim that it's "powered"?

The idea of a Y-wing with R3-A2, tactician and TLT is just utterly nasty. It might take some setup but dumping 4 stress tokens on a ship using a ship that costs 22 points might be a tad too crazy, and utter death to most aces.

I'm pretty certain the ywing is in a good place and will not get any extra attention.

While I wouldn't mind seeing new pilots other ships are in need of much more attention.

Such as the Imperial firespray. One thing I never really hear or see anymore.

I don't care if scum has a variation. It's still available in the Imperial, and it is most certainly lacking. Pilot ability are pretty bad, even when it was released.

Shuttle again I think could use some lovin.

Especially new pilots.

Ewing generic definitely need some lovin.

Scum scyke definitely need more attention. They're just terrible. Haven't seen a game yet where one has preformed well.

I'm also thinking the Phantom could use something.

They took a drastic hit when they changed the cloak ruling and add in all the turrets and stress mechanic in the game, it's definitely not easy being a Phantom pilot.

Maybe not yet, but they'll need one soon.

Before I ywing got any other goodies

Ywing has been present with the current upgrade available, so I think there are other ships that could use attention first. Shuttle, Ewing and other ships could use more pilots. How about Jango Fett for the Firespray?

Y-Wing with a crew upgrade would diminish the use of HWKs more than they are now, so that will not likely happen. The Y-Wing's in a good spot now since Wave 6, so I doubt we'll see anything for them for some time. Other ships need the help right now.

Any ship that showed up in the finals in worlds is doing pretty good already. If it showed up twice in the winning list then it's definately not in need of a ******* fix.

That said I would to see the Yavin Gold Squadron fellows as pilots, some day. And with EPTs.

Close. It would also need to do 3 auto damage on anything that has regen, a 3+attack turret, or can arc dodge at PS 9 or higher.

A BTL-S3 title would be great - but a generic crew slot creates too much overlap with the HWK - which while better than it was, is still a fairly niche ship.

The way to work it is to give it a Title that gives a crew slot which either only allows Y-Wing only crew - or creates a unique upgrade slot for Y-Wing gunners.

Agreed - too much potential for broken interactions if the wishbone had access to the full range of crew options.

Doesn't make much sense thematically either. The guy / girl / alien squidfish hermaphrodite in the crew seat on a Y-Wing was a gunner.

Y wing is one of the most iconic ships for those of us aged 40+. It is a shame, only two named Rebel Pilots, 8 X wing named pilots...

I'd rather say we remove the Turret slot... Because guess where the Crewmember sits, right in the gunner seat.

Now that would not be so OP suddenly, and could make you use ordnance instead!

No - quite the opposite - the person who sat in the crew seat's job was to operate the turret and nothing else - a BTL-S3 title which adds some kind of crew option needs to make a turret a mandatory condition of equipping the card

This is true for many ships in X-Wing. The K-Wing has a Crewmember in the second Cockpit = Crew slot and a 2 manned Turrets = one turret upgrade and the PWT i suppose!

Variety, as many have mentioned, is all they need. This applies to both the Rebel and Scum factions. Pilots are definitely the way to go to achieve that variety as there are already a ton of ways to outfit a Y.

Since both faction's Y's are suffering from the same problem, I propose a box with components for one Rebel and one Scum Y-Wing. Some nice new faction appropriate paint jobs, 2-4 new unique pilots each, some upgrade cards which have helped the Y but appeared in other expansions (TLT etc.), all the necessary cardboard and there you have it.

You add variety to the Y, with out helping a ship which doesn't need it, while helping players who don't buy 100 points worth of each ship get useful upgrade cards. If you don't play one faction or the other, you still get a nice looking ship to add variety to your squads along with some new pilots.

I'd actually like to see this style of release with other cross-faction ships which don't need a full on fix. Z-95 would benefit from such a box. Firespray would too, although I'm skeptical that they'd put two larges in one box.

I know they haven't done cross faction boxes up to this point. But there's nothing saying they couldn't other than precedent, which is pretty meaningless here.
