400 Point Ship-Heavy Rebel Build

By Maddok1218, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

After playing Warhammer Fantasy competitively for about 12 years, the new version has really left me out to dry. I found Armada and loved it. Below is one of my first fleet lists, and I'd love some critiques.

In general, I prefer to play heavily offensive armies that favor speed. In most cases I'm ok with my units dying to a swift breeze, so rebels seem to fit me well!

MC 80 Assault Cruiser
-Home 1
-Ackbar

-ECM

166

MC 30 Scout

-Gunnery teams

-Turbo Laser re-route circuits

-Intel officer

90

Nebulon B Escort Frigate
Salvation
Slaved turrets
70

2 A Wings
Luke
2 B wings

396 total

How does that look?

I like it. Looks fun ☆

Akbar generally doesn't combo with a Neb B and you could get more bang out of a corvette, MC30c need farsight, it's just great. The squadron choices are interesting, all will require a squadron command so I'm wondering who you will do that with? Better to use rogues with this fleet IMO.

So maybe switch to a corevette and then invest the extra points into squadrons? If I was to run rogue heavy, what would you recommend? I'd still like to have some bomber power here. I guess the A wings could be switched out for YT 2400's, right?

YT-2400's are really good. I love me some slaved turrets on Salvation but it is really doesn't work with Ackbar since you can only fire once and it wants to be from the front.

If you really want to use this ship comp I think this list would get more out of a different commander like Garm or Dodonna. You can put the Ackbar points back into squadrons.

If you put Assault Proton Torpedoes on your MC30 you could get a ton of mileage out of that and Luke with Dodonna. If you decide to go that route I would drop the TRC's and gunnery teams from the MC30 and add ordnance experts. Just make sure you don't rush it up by itself into the middle of the enemy fleet. Make him choose between shooting at the MC30 or the MC80 while Salvation pounds away from the longest possible range.
