where will dorsal turret find its place?

I have been considering it on a stress hog for points economy, but I am wondering if the two additional points to bump it to a ionturret is intrinsically worth it.

Even at its low cost I wonder if it makes the Attack Shuttle too expencive for its low health. Where do you see this card fitting into lists? Will cavil, palob, or mux like it? Cheaper warthogs perhaps?

Torkhil Mux has a range 1-2 ability, and would also appreciate Dorsal Turret. So it looks like the answer to your question is, "Scum and Villainy."

TLT trumps it, mostly because R1-2 is was and will be the most hardly castrated part of turrets.

There's a few lists that I've tried to fit a HWK into but couldn't quite swing the points for an Ion or TLT. The Dorsal turret seems perfect there.

I prefer Pred and R4-B11, as it frees up your dial and less dependent on outside factors.

I can see it as a different option than the TLT. Perhaps one in a 4 Y list to shore up the donut hole. Since it seems a few builds of the Ghost will be up close fighting, definitely see that as an option for their free turret shot.

I like it on ordnance Y-Wings. 26-27 points for a ship with two torpedo volleys (almost certainly assisted by chimps), along with something to help deal damage after their payloads have been delivered (or to harass arc-dodgers trying to get out of torpedo arc).

Could change up ye old TLT Y-Wing list to be a pair of Ys with TLTs and then a pair with Plasma Torpedoes, EM, chimps, and a Dorsal Turret. Excellent jousting power from the torps and dorsal turrets to cover the TLT donut.

Or, you know, just throw about half your squad points into two Y-Wings escorting an ace. Or two other generics of your choice (could get two Blues with FCS).

I'm more for an Autoblaster Turret on ordnance Y-Wings, if you want a turret. It will create a small no go zone for Aces, and if the Y-Wing can launch your two torpedoes, you may only have a few health left since your openants may see it as a threat. So stay as cheap as possible.

However, since the HWK has a poor maniability, the dorsal turret may work fine for Roark or Torxil, and even may be Palob. That way, they will not be see as a threat, or be expensive like with an ICT or a TLT. Roark and Torxil with just a DT are only 22 points and can be a real pain for your openants.

I really like this. Dorsal Turret+Jan Ors is a meager 28 points, up to 29 if you throw Wired on her.

Heck, any named HWK that isn't Dace Bonearm will love this thing (Dace still really wants that ICT!). Very cheap way to get them on the battlefield and not be completely useless during combat. I would seriously consider running Garnet or Mux with just the DT and otherwise naked.

in lists where you cant fit a TLT or ICT, don't want a ABT and BT is not an option. DT will be the one you take

It's place is anyplace you can't afford 6 points for a TLT.

While it is better than Blaster Turret it is kind of hard to meet the new bar TLT has set for turret slot secondary weapons without being totally broken.

That being said probably is obscure list such as Spice Runner Swarm or on a Y-wing that doesn't get that much use like Kalvi. Other than that you would pick TLT, even on the Ghost/Phantom.

Thats 35 points for one Y-wing, and all I have to do is stay at range 3. Although I have never fought a Y-wing with engine and unhinged so it could cover the ground and catch people off guard.

i use this build with TLT as it stands and keeping you where I want you is EZ PZ with the engine upgrade and unhinged, can't wait for the pre-ordered Ghost to get here for a new set of shenanigans...

Well that sounds nasty.

I dunno, I prefer unhinged Ys, so 22 point Dorsal Thugs sound like a good cheap turret that people will underestimate. I would probably save EU for the HWK, but I'm silly that way.
