Video- Motti v Motti

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

Two very different twin ISD lists duke it out:

It does, you just need to subscribe to the channel and make sure your notifications are set to email you when a stream goes live.

Thank you!

Semi-Spoilers....

I was Steven's opponent on this and my first mistake was having Contested Outpost instead of Minefields in my list. I normally never included CO because I feel it restricts my movements and makes me too predictable. The other mistake was assuming my squadrons could kill one of his ships before he killed one of mine in a joust. I really wanted to test it and see how much damage they could put out and it wasnt as much as I had hoped, especially against a Motti'd up ISD. I had thought about sweeping far left with my Motti keeping my squadrons in long range between my two ISDs so I could keep activating them but I knew I would have lost lots of points to him controlling the station. Either way we were both somewhat surprised at how much sheer damage the ISD IIs with Gunnery Teams, Xi7s, and Intel Officer did...at least I was. Was a good game and I have since tweaked my build to make it more versatile by upgrading one of the ISD Is to an ISD II, dropping a Tie Advanced and dropping Flight Controllers. Was a fun game as usual whenever Steven and I play.

ISD I or ISD II is not the problem IMO , the real problem as pointed out by your opponent was that you dismissed the most broken upgrade of the game which is Gunnery team , the only way you could play around that would be by spreading your ISD but considering the mission it would have been a big sacrifice. The squadrons did just fine , just remove a couple of them to leave room for Gunnery team.

Great Video! Just a bit frustrated that we didn't have any zoom on the painted squadrons and that also would be great if we could see the defense token.

YAY! ISD lists with squadrons!!!

Excited to see how it plays out. :)

I enjoy watching you play, thanks for the videos.

great video guys

i noticed in the 1st turn i believe IG-2000 attacked with 5 blue dice but since this was in the squadron phase should it not have been just 4 ?

Loving these vids but a couple of things could really help us spectators if you have the time.

1. A little post production (or just visible markers next to the ships) to let us know what has activated this turn and what hasn't (the chess like activations of armada mean it's hard to judge game state without this info).

2. To help us value the interactions between vessels, some kind of shield/hp readout would be great, I know that's asking a lot haha

3. Early turns/setup sped up a bit, get to da action (chopper!!!)

Good catch, you are correct it should have been 4.

Guess that's a forfeit!!

That's the funny thing about these videos eh? Every little mistake gets caught. Initially I was worried I would be annoyed by that, but in fact, I think it's making me a better player!

@Leowulf I would love to do any or all of those things, but they all probably triple the amount of time it takes to make these videos. Perhaps one day when I have more time!

I'm new to Armada and just want to see if I understand a rule correctly. Once the ISDs rammed, they would be at speed 0 for the rest of the round. Wouldn't they not be allowed to use defense tokens for the rest of the round?
