Money for only one Epic Imperial - Raider or Gozanti?

If you're raring to put something on the table opposite the CR-90, and are ok proxying cards, get the Raider. Full stop. It's not even a question.

With the Raider, you get Imperial vs Rebel huge ship combat with flights of pesky fighters swarming around nipping at their heels. It's _amazing_ Star Wars fun.

The Raider also comes with the Ion Cannon Battery, which is a great secondary weapon for the CR-90.

If you do mind proxying cards, get the Gozanti. It has some great new Epic cards that will make all current and subsequent Huge ships perform better. Optimized Generators on an attack ship is a game changer. And Ordnance Tubes look really interesting.

The other option is to get a pair of Gozantis, which will cost a bit more, but should put out a lot of interesting battlefield confusion. You could launch an entire 8 TIE Swarm over 2 turns (6 on one turn and 2 on the next)- maximizing your opponent's inability to target properly.

And yes. Both ships come with some great cards for standard play. I don't mean to sound Kallus, but *yawn*. That's not why we get epic ships, that's just a nice bonus.

Having played a casual game over the Christmas holiday, I can honestly say those TIE-Advanced fixes are absolute gold.

EPIC Play (RAIDER) - Raider is a better like for like match up against the CR-90 than the Gozanti. The Gozanti will not be as many points on the table so more of your collection will be needed to make up the rest of points possibly leading to less variety in your accompanying force depending on the size of your collection.

PROXIES/TOURNAMENT BUILD (RAIDER for Tie Advanced / Gozanti for Tie Swarms) - Assuming you can proxy anything you want in an Epic battle the raider will give you Palpatine and 4 Tie/x1 fixes. There are competitive tournament lists where these are needed making them quite valuable. Also if you are an imperial player you may sometime play competitively making the raider a better choice to get these cards plus a Tie Advanced model in your collection. Conversely the Gozanti for standard play only really offers Kallus for tournament play and not sure where he fits in. (Expose, marksmanship and expert handling come too but they may not be needed/better places to get those). Unless you like swarms then Gozanti gives you two Ties and a lot of pilots so if you like imp swarms this should bump up the value of the Gozanti.

The Raider is an offensive powerhouse... two primaries as a long-range stand-off, quads for close-in work, and plenty of health for battering ram operations. Haven't flown the Sith U-Haul yet (got it yesterday) but while it looks promising the Raider is terrifying and wicked!

The Raider! Get the Gozantis later to support the Raider you buy now!

Gozanti, i like it so much i want a second
