Let's discuss this epic loadout

Raider fore

Ion Cannon battery

Optimized generators

Engineering team

Comms Booster

Aft

Quad laser

Ion battery

Construction droid

Captian needa

Automated protocol

Instigator

Tibanna gas supply

Its a pretty hefty ship with all the upgrades

It has better action and energy economy

Better defense, it can spend an energy, get rid of a face down card.

Gain an extra shield when using the recover action.

Gain two more energy when using hardpoints.

I went with the ion and quad because I felt it wasn't much more pt wise.

5 pts, plus 4x2 just for say 2 concussion missiles with active range of 2-3 costs about 13 pts. 17 If you want to use 3

Ion and quads costs 12 for 2. 1 pt cheaper, or 18 for 3, 1 extra.

With the optimize generators you will get two free energy to help with your hardpoints, and gives you a range of 2-4 with ion and 1-2 with the quad on the back.

Then after you take a target lock action you can get a free reinforced action and if needed take the recover action and gain a free shield with the title.

I like needa because I hate hitting rocks with huge ships and with needa at least I can roll, and worst case scenario I lose a shield rather than take a direct crit to the hull.

I find that really helps with early positioning.

I considered having to Comms but decided just the one.

The gas supply is there to give that extra energy for when my opponent ships start to close in

And with the Comms I can still give a ship a free focus token

That's the rundown on my raider build

Now for squad

Actually this I kept pretty simple

Protect the raider

My actual goal isn't to kill my opponent huge ship. It's to kill his squad.

As for my squad I'm thinking something along the line of 6 Academy, dark curse and Howlrunner, and 2 advanced. Colzet with FCS, and Tempest with Accuracy corrector

Again the idea is keep them somewhat close to the raider

Once ships get close to the raider, I'll send in the swarm.

Any thoughts?

I'd like to go higher ps with the squads but then instead of having 10 ships I'd be down to 7-8

I'm thinking numbers is the way to go

Discuss?

Optimized Generators and Automated protocols are both modifications so unfortunately you can't take both.

With the Raider you'll want to target lock and either heal shields or reinforce, so comms may not be of much use.

Needa and the droid are situational. I'd drop them for weapons officer and shield technician. It will buff your attack power and help with energy efficiency.

With Automated Protocols, weapons officer, and shield technician you can recover shields, gain two target locks, then spend an energy and reinforce in one turn.

I was wondering that

In the squad builder both section your able to equip a modification, so I was thinking one for each section

But ya that makes a huge difference

As for captian needa though, idk. I agree with what your saying, but man it really sucks when you do hit a rock and it's nice to have the extra freedom.

My opponent is usually pretty good at placing them in the areas that'll be difficult to get around
