Title cards and the new ruling on concentrate fire tokens

By Chrissr09, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So the first question I'm pretty certain is correct but I have been wrong before. With title cards for ships, you can't have more than one ship with the one title card, correct? You wouldn't be able to run 3 glads all with the demolisher title.

As for the second question, with the new ruling saying you must choose to spend the concentrate fire token before you roll your attack dice. So if you have a perfect roll and you choose not to use the reroll given by the token, do you get the token back or not? If you do then that's not big deal. But if it just goes away unused then why not make it to where you spend it after you roll but before the defender spends their defense tokens? It does make more sense that way.

1. Right. That's what "Unique" (indicated by the dot preceding the card name) means.

2. Huh? What new ruling is this? You don't spend the token until after rolling, if you don't want to. The Concentrate Fire rules explicitly say "resolve during the Resolve Attack Effects step", which takes place after rolling the attack pool but before spending defense tokens.

EDIT: The only caveat is that if you want to use both a CF dial and a CF token in the same attack , you must declare both at the same time . You can't spend the dial to get an extra die, and then decide to spend the token to get a reroll, or viceversa.

With concentrate fire you must declare the token and the dial being used before you resolve either effect. You could not use the dial, roll your extra dice them choose to use the token and re-roll (or the other way around). You would have to declare dial and token at the same time.

You can only concentrate fire once per turn per ship and before you resolve the command you must decide to commit the dial the token or the dial and the token.

Once you have spent the dial and token you don't get them back if you decline to resolve their effects.

This caught me off guard as well. Concentrate Fire is just like every other Command Token. It has to be spent at the same time to constitute a single use of that command.

Ok. I read the FAQ on it wrong then. I thought it was before any attack not just when in use with the concentrate command dial. So that makes more sense. Thanks guys.

which means that yes, you could be declaring to use conc fire to add a die, find out that that die and all your rest are good results, and "waste" your token.

Well, you'd already know that all the rest are good results, as you roll them before adding & rolling the new die. But yes, if the new die gives you a good result, then you've wasted the token.
