If a ship chooses to attack only squadrons, does that mean he can attack up to 4 squadrons per activation?

By Ranker, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Reading the rules, it states that a ship may repeat steps 2-6 in order to attack another squadron. My question is: Can a ship attack up to 4 squadrons if it chooses to attack only squadrons and do they have to be completely different squadrons?

For example, is the following allowable?

1st attack w/ Hull Zone 1: Ship attacks Squadron 1

2nd attack w/ Hull Zone 1: Ship attacks Squadron 2

1st attack w/ Hull Zone 2: Ship attacks Squadron 1 again

2nd attack w/ Hull Zone 2: Ship attacks Squadron 3

If a ship chooses to only attack squadrons, it can attack up to an absolute shitload of squadrons. More than that if they ever release a ship with red anti-squadron dice.

When a ship chooses to use one of it's two attacks to attack a squadron, it can, as you described then select an additional squadron to attack. But then it may select an ADDITIONAL squadron to attack, and another, until it has attacked every squadron in the firing arc. This entire process is one attack.

You may then select a second firing arc, and do the same with all squadrons in that hull zone. This is also one attack, bringing your total to two attacks this turn.

And yes, if there is a squadron in both firing arcs, it can be attacked with both firing arcs.

A ship may fire out of a specified hull zone and attack "x" amount of squadrons that are within range and within hull arc. With gunnery team you would NOT be able to double attack squadrons, but you could attack squadrons and a ship from the same hull zone. And yes if you double arc a squadron you may attack it with both hull zones. *not advisable, unless necessary*

A minor correction to JGZMan: each attack counts as a separate attack for the purpose of effects/upgrades, but the whole thing counts as one of your two attacks for the round. And yes, you can double-arc a squadron to attack it with both arcs, very useful on dedicated anti fighter ships like the Raider.

An important clarification. Thanks!
