Bossk's Thugs

Been out of the game for a while and just wondering what people think of this list and will it be competitive? I'll be testing it out a few times anyway.

2 Syndicate Thugs with TLT and Unhinged

Cons- A lot of points in the Hunter and he may only be good for 1 or 2 strikes until the enemy is behind him

- Only 1 for everyones defence dice

Looks fine by me. Never flown bossk myself but the yv is a tank. The only thing i would change is taje expert handling and the mechs off and give bossk an engine upgrade. Helps keep stuff in arc.

I run the TLTs with bomb load outs and seismic charges, then I run Bossk with calculation and no cannon to make best use of his arc.

My Bossk takes K4,Calculation, EU, and recon specialist.

A list like this really relies on winning the war of attrition. You can't stop taking damage, but if you can dish out more than you take, you can carry the day.

I would suggest dropping the merc co-pilot. His ability is situational, and between expert handling and mangler, you should be getting the crits for Bossk enough without it. Use the points to upgrade the unhinged mechs into R4 agromechs so your y-wings punch hard every time they shoot. Modifying your shots as much as possible is where its at for a list like this, imho.

Drop mangler and give him calculation and outlaw tech; you get full use of the 180 arc and can spend focus for reliable crits.

Thanks for the advice and I think I would generally agree with you BladeMerc about dropping merc copilot but I often face range 3 autothrusters so Im taking that to mitigate them a bit.

EU vs EH I think EH is better slightly. The YV can do green 1's and combined with EH can basically move slightly to try and force a bump or position so that the 180 arc will get a shot and remove a TL. So although a 4 forward and boost would cover more ground doing a green right 1 with EH vs a green right 1 with a boost I actually cover more arcs for shooting and I am losing the Ion Projector(psychological attack).

Calc is actually not that good even with recon spec. So Calc has 2 dice results it can change to crits compared to 3 for the manglers front arc. But recon spec takes a crew spot needs and action to work(so no bumping and lots of lists try to do this).

So with the K4, Calc, Recon spec and EU

= Actions needed for recspec

= Can run and possibly chase but less arc shots

= No ability to control(tactician although also situational)

I do have some upgrades that porbably wont get used much but I think I have some ability to get at most lists.

With Expert Handling, there's no point in taking outlaw tech because you will rarely use the red moves and you don't need engine so much.

I still don't think merc co-pilot is helping you----it doesn't help push any damage passed autothrusters (the shot has to hit before you can activate Bossk's ability...)

And R4 agromechs will let your y-wings threaten ships with autothrusters (otherwise, they will only deal damage on AGI 3+ autothruster ships on occasion or rarely if they have tokens to spare).

Well played 3 games 2 wins and 1 Loss against 3 Australian National players. And I have found that it does have some potentially large flaws.

The main one is if my Y's are targeted first they will go down easy and then it is hard for Bossk alone to win, that is basically how I lost. But a few other things I have learnt is everyone is right Merc copilot is probably a waste but I will try a few more games and see how it goes.

As for things that seem to work well K4, EH and Tactician are brilliant.

I would like the argomechs and I might get rid of the projector it doesn't seem to do much.
