I found purchasable storage solutions for X-wing's American-Mini cards

By krechevskoy, in X-Wing

So I have been looking since the dawn of X-wing for halfway useful storage solutions. And in one week I found 2 of them.

The broken token has a buildable case/crate storage solution. it is a bit of a pain to press together even with the slotted pieces, and it does have a tendancy to tear/fray along the thinner moving pieces. But is a great bulk storage solution.

Then there is the holy grail of my X-wing mini cards. A double sides 9 slot, 20 page mini holder. 360 cards total and if you already have the cards sleeved, they still fit!!!!

Ultimate Guard mini American Zipfolio!!!

I put 1 copy of each card with types divided by pages, and left space for expansion and to prevent one set of cards from spilling into the next. It is my small card menu. EPT takes up about 3 pages , but I reserved 4. I can't gush enough about this thing. It is like an X-wing Menu.

Where did you get the Zipfolio? I have been looking for that exact type of thing!!!

Also, would the cards fit into the pages if they are in the FFG protectors sleeves.

What, no links?

Yes they fit in the pockets and the box optimally with the FFG (yellow) sleeves.

I got the zipfolios on both Amazon and Miniature Market.

Broken token was their own site.

EDIT: Mentioned BT and MM separately.

I too have been searching. They do alright in my Plano box, but I have been eyeing the Zipfolio once they revealed it. I had to delay my purchase though, cause I got the Raider today... lol...

Has Ultrapro # 84781 become available in US yet? More options are always good.

Not yet but they are coming. I have some of those bought from eBay and they are great to take along with similar holders for ship/pilot cards for tournies and games nights, as I can pair one of each type and have a list ready to go, but for long-term storage I prefer the binders.

I did a quick search on Amazon since I have prime for free shipping but don't see these yet. Has anyone found them on Amazon by chance?

Yes they have been. I picked mine up from the LGS on December 30th. I had pre-ordered a box of 100 because I thought I would use them for Imperial Assault and X-Wing but then I ended up selling my Imperial Assault collection. Now I have more pages than I know what to do with. I was previously using Ultra Pro 12 pocket pages code #212D. They were OK at best. To much space between each pocket made for wavy pages and the pocket were a bit to big. The cards when sleeved had a good chance of falling out because of this.

I have now reorganized with the new #84781 and i couldn't be happier. These are the perfect pages for organizing X-Wing Miniatures upgrade cards. Thinking back my very first post on these forums I mentioned how Ultra Pro needed to step up there game and start producing pages for this size card. I'm glad they have finally listened to me.

Here is a new page

those 16 pocket ultra pro sheets... can you fit more than 3 or so upgrades in one slot with thin sleeves?

Btw. everyone, for Xwing, I LOVE Mayday mini american sleeves. They fit super snug, theyre thin, and they feel awesomely smooth. The FFG and others are thick, more protective, and hard.

Also technically enough, if you slot upgrades in sideways in 9 pocket pages (for instance i have too many assault missiles), you can actaully fit 18 upgrades per page.

I just checked and yes you can fit 3 sleeved cards in one pocket. You can fit 4 sleeved cards as well but that's a tight fit. I use FFG sleeves which might be thicker. If your saying Mayday sleeves are thinner than FFG sleeves than 4 cards per pocket might work.

Okay, so where can I buy these in Canada?

Ordered the zippy wallet, it's just what I've been looking for!

Ben, is that you?

Because otherwise it is very strange that I have never heard of this company before and in the space of 3 hours come across this exact product twice.

Do you know if these are available in the UK at all?

Just be careful it has "American-Mini" on the cover. There is a generic American sized card zip folder as well. if it does not say "American-Mini" it is too big.

Be careful especially on Amazon, as they don't specify sometimes on the product.

Got one ordered through MM, bit more expensive than I would have liked since I couldn't find them on Amazon. Will need a 2nd, but I can wait for Amazon or the LGS to carry them.

Yeah I think I'm going to get those pocket pages. Will lower the bulk of my binder some!

How snugly do the cards fir into the folio?

When I started collecting I was told to buy mini-euro sized card sleeves, which are slightly larger than mini-americans

I'd quite like a folio but I'm not looking forward to the expense of replacing about 500 card sleeves at the same time

These are awesome!

Bought 2 of these holders at the local store they work perfect!

Probably need 1 more though.

Took what 3 years to get something like this? But man these are worth the money. In store they run $20 or around $15 online.
