Who do you supply ships for?

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

With the pics of fleets lately, I thought I'd throw out there, my son and I play with the fleets I post. (All my money, tho!!!) So if you cut my ship numbers in half as we have two players, it doesn't seem so amazing!

Mostly myself, though I run demos. And if friends would like to borrow ships or cards they can. At tournaments I've also let people borrow cards when they show up with proxies.

What a freeloader!

Mostly myself, though my friends and I will lend cards and ships to each other as needed since we all don't pony up for 8 TIEs apiece.

Anybody I have ever played against. My wife, my brother, my nephews.

The next time we meet, though, my brother did buy my nephew an old and new core set and a Falcon for Christmas, so he is well on his way to not needing my ships anymore.

And... if I get the opportunity, anybody I can coral into it in town. If we can only get a few people so we can try to establish a solid game night then I can do some "Learn To Play" sessions and let people play with my ships.

I'm imagining Joe swimming in X-wing minis like Scrooge McDuck swam through gold in his moneybin.

Imediate friends and family

Usually for tutorial purposes

ANYbody who wants to play.

I supply ships to anyone for nearly any reason. I do this because i like the people i'm usually around, and because i trust that on days where i come into the shop without my stuff, and find people there who i normally play with, that they'll do the same for me.

Mostly though, because it shows that our local community is one that is very open and gracious, and i love to have more people to play with.

In the very beginning, my friend supplied the ships. But soon I was able to start affording them myself (slowly at first). Now I might be providing a few ships for some new people in preparation for our upcoming store league tournament! Gotta get those new guys hooked!

(check the Organized Play subforum for details on the tournament)

I have one friend that has his own ships all the other 4-5 all count on us to play. My brother-in-law who plays with me the most has bought me a number of ships for birthday and Christmas etc so that helps!

I have loaned ships to my roomie for an Epic Team Tourney, and I'm enticing a neighbor into the game with games of Empire Vs Scum...

so two, currently. Though that number will be going down as I got the neighbor a Most Wanted pack for Xmas...

Manny? Manny Bothan, Jr.? Is that you, Manny?

Mostly my son and I, but anyone who comes over and wants to play is welcome.

I'll let anyone who needs to use my stuff to play use whatever they need to do so. But I expect it back in the condition I gave it to you.

Aside from the Firespray and two TIE interceptors my brother bought, I supply all of the ships that appear on my table.

I supplied 5 others with ships this week. We had our christmass game night, and we played descent. Like last year we finished with a game of x wing. I'm one of the two people that has the game, and the only one who brought it.

Fun was had by all!

I hand over miniatures and cards to anyone who needs them, even at tournaments.

For a coffee. :D

I supply for myself and all my cousins, which can range anywhere from two to six or seven additional players, depending on circumstances. One of my cousins did get his hands on quite a few ships this Christmas, so that'll make things easier on me going forward.

When I am in my home town I supply all the ships. There is no community here, so it wouldn't make any sense for my buddy to get into the game. Where I study I play with people who have their own collections.

Two old core sets to play free ultra-casual games during "kit-kat" breaks or at lunchtime, in my job place.

I am lucky and I own a room dedicated to wargaming, so we played with my models ( quite a big colection ) but my.gamemates are buying.more and more stuff ( I have no intention to invest heavily on Huges, but they will )

6-10 people for tournaments, since I'm basically the only one with collection.

So how many players do you actually supply ships for?

One, myself.

At my house for everyone. Even friends who have ships do not need to bring anything as I have 2-8 copies of everything depending.

In the local tournament scene, myself only. Don't abide proxies in tournaments nor supply missing cards. Half this board seems so anxious to give FFG more money, then do it and bring your own ships and cards. 8P
