According to the visual guide it's got a heavy laser cannon (as opposed to the Stormtrooper transports "antipersonnel" gun), so it's got some firepower to bring to the table (or a cannon slot at least)

For those who think it doesn't have a place in a game ostensibly about space battles/dogfights - we have the Lambda class shuttle ... 'nuff said.

Lambda was a staple of many missions in x-wing and tie fighter, in those games you wouldn't want to joust them.

Personally, I'd rather get a separate special forces tie model rather than Kylo Ren's shuttle, or the troop transport.

Unless they do a shuttle wave with Kylos shuttle, the sky hopper, and some scum shuttle.mmaybe that pleasure cruiser or something.

I dunno, it doesn't have much firepower and by what limited knowledge we have would have a terrible dial. It would be like a less powerful Imperial Shuttle maybe? I could see it having a place in missions or something. Seems like it would be stepping on the Hwks toes for no real purpose. It's really too bad there aren't more options in TFA for other things.

I nominate the HH-87 Starhopper! Looks like a hutt with wings - kinda grows on you.

It isn't a landing transport - more like a mobile c&c. And I looks like it has an escape pod as well. And while it looks like a B-Wing, it's engine placement is more similar to the Y-Wing.

I can see this being in XWMG as the Rebels/Resistance version of the Lambda Shuttle. The Incredible Cross-section book states that its has a modular weapons pod that can be outfitted with proton torpedo launchers, HLC and/or Ion Cannon so its has some teeth. It even has space below the cockpit to mount autoblasters, so its very much like a B-wing except its slightly bigger and maneuvers like a brick.

Design-wise it feels very much like a Star Wars ship and it appeals to me the same way the B-wing appeals to me; its quirky and odd.

Doesn't change the fact that, as it appears there, it has no cover from incoming fire from the top. Which is bad, because that's also the angle that presents the largest profile. So it has no native cover from attacks made from the most advantageous angle. Just sayin'.
