New Player, casual list advice

By Stu35, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I'm entirely new to the game (played my first game just two days ago with a friends imperials), and in a splurge of post-Christmas spending I have the following sets to choose from when building a list (so cards not included in these are not an option for me really):

Sets I own:

The Force Awakens Core Set

TIE Fighter expansion

TIE Advanced expansion

TIE Interceptor expansion

SLAVE I expansion

Imperial Aces expansion

Which gives me in terms of ships:

Ships I own:

1 x Firespray 31

1 x TIE advanced

1 x TIE Fighter

2 x TIE/fo Fighter

3 x TIE Interceptor

I appreciate now that interceptors are probably not the best ships for a Newbie to be investing in, but they look incredibly cool (my choices on purchases were mostly based around which models looked cool, and what would let me play with Darth Vader and Boba Fett).

I've devised a couple of lists to play casually with my friend (who played Rebels, and as far as I can tell is a fan of 3 X-Wings, including (and I quote) "Using Biggs to draw fire while Wedge and Luke shoots things", I'm not sure how this translates into commonly used lists so any advice on that would be appreciated too. I'll also probably end up playing with some other friends into the game, I don't know what they fly though (none are competition players though).

Given my level of experience, I expect these to suck, so please bear with me, and any help to make them a little better rounded (and, ideally - simple to play for a new player) would be greatly appreciated.

LIST 1 - Darth Vader and friends

Darth Vader (29)

-Swarm Tactics (2)

-Concussion Missiles (4)

-Shield Upgrade (4)

Total (39)

Howlrunner (18)

Swarm Tactics (2)

Shield Upgrade (4)

Total (24)

Epsilon Leader (19)

- Hull Upgrade (3)

Total (22)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Total (15)

Grand Total: 100 points.

This list I feel like I'd be using Darth Vaders missiles to shoot early on as we close in, before using swarm tactics to (hopefully) give all 4 ships a chance to focus fire and shoot down his X-wings one at a time.

LIST 2 - Boba Fett

Boba Fett (39)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Concussion Missiles (4)

Shield Upgrade (4)

Slave I (0)

Proton Torpedoes (4)

Total (52)

Tempest Squadron Pilot (21)

Academy Pilot (12)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Grand Total: 100 points.

This one I just kinda want to see Boba Fett flying around shooting stuff whilst the 3 TIE's cause trouble... Again, it was an aesthetic/fanboy choice, rather than an actual "knowing anything about the game" choice.

List 3 - Interceptors (and Darth Vader)

Soontir Fel (27)

- Push the limit (3)

- Targeting Computer (2)

- Royal Guard TIE (0)

- Stealth Device (3)

Total (35)

Turr Phennir (25)

- Push the Limit (3)

- Targeting Computer (2)

- Royal Guard TIE (0)

- Stealth Device (3)

Total (33)

Darth Vader (29)

- Hull Upgrade (3)

Total (32)

This one is probably quite poorly built (well, they all are I expect), and definitely outside my current skill ability to use, but I figure it'll be fun to pit some elite interceptors against my mate, I figure especially It'll give me a little practice using Push the limit to try and stay outside his arcs of fire. At one point I did have Darth Vader with "daredevil", but his lack of Boost (and my lack of Engine upgrade cards) seemed to make that a bad choice.

So, yeah, anybody have opinions on how those lists might go? advice on how to improve them? entirely new lists using the models available? Feel free to advise me on the next sets to look at, but it'll be unlikely I buy more than one expansion a month.

Finally: To all those who've read this far, thank you for your patience, and for any help getting this complete newbie into the wider world of X-Wing.
