So I had to take out a z.

Didn't seem worth it, but then TFA set came out and one day I thought poe

Again another z ended up coming out and I did consider anorther ywing

Pretty similar to what Paul had used actually except I had different upgrades on poe, and actually I wasn't sure how tlt and r3a2 would pair. That ion stress is pretty nice

Tarn and poe probably two of my favorites, so I thought what if I combined the two

It's not quite the same, but I'm wondering if tarn in this list would be a decent trade off for the tlt ywing?

I guess that one thing about the other ywing is you had that turret in the list, but tarn is pretty awesome.

I feel with the stressbot you don't really need to rely on a turret and with poe ps10 again don't really need to rely on a turret

The two big target is Poe then ywing.

Tarn late game is a beast

I can't see my opponent really try and concentrate fire on tarn

So thoughts?

Looks like a decent list. Tarn can be very annoying, and with his tricks should last about as long as the TLT-Y would in his place. Plus, if you fly him well enough to get consistent shots on target, he'll likely put out more damage than the TLT. Also, be sure to add Integrated Astromech to him as soon as you can get your hands on a T-70 expansion.

I think what's nice about the y-wing with TLT is its not a jouster so it gives an otherwise all-jousting list a little versatility. Tarn is a jouster, so you lose a bit of flexibility in the trade. However, Tarn is a pretty solid jouster, so I don't think its a bad idea. Knowing he's not going to get shot at does help fly him a bit more aggressively too, so he may very well deal decent damage. The only thing I would say is it does make your list a little weaker against arc-dodgers, especially fat turrets with engine. Fortunately those are less common, and you still have the stressbot for dealing with the very same, so might not become a problem if your careful.

I agree with above about integrated astro---a great addition for Tarn + R7...

It's the high ps fast moving ships, but that's why there is also poe and the stressbot.

It is a bit of a trade off with the tlt ywing. I guess maybe if something went horribly wrong and I lost poe, tarn can still be a decent late game closer unlike a tlt ywing

The ywing is tanky, but tarn can be real hard to kill

Here is the odd game R7 has turned around and bite me in the ass but more times than not has won me the game

Definitely need to get my hands on the new expansion

Sadly xwing in my area is not popular. (no game nights or anything) (PEI, Canada) and there are only two stores that carry xwing and neither of them have received the new xwing or TIE fighter.

Tarn is great. Anything to frustrate your opponent

Too bad about your situation. I live in Toronto so no lack of popularity here. Having kids makes it tough to get out to game nights, but VASSAL is a nice alternative, even if it doesn't equal the tabletop...

Ya I'm very grateful for vassal, but it's just not the same.

I have two friends to play with but they are not a fan of stress builds (who is really) So I have to play some things on there, otherwise they just get frustrated
