Woke up by 5-month old one hour after midnight, then woke up again 4 hours later by the largest, closest earthquake I've ever felt. Shaky start. Might just skip to 2017.

As it turned out I was basically the only one drinking at that, small group, people were tired. .

I'm just glad that the next new year is a year away from now; still so full from all the food *feeling like Jabba ATM*

Champagne is a frequently appearing fizzy-drink here at all festivities.

But then, I am at 1,5 hours driving from the Champagne (the area).

So I have access to some really good ones! Making it an everyman's drink.

nah, it's perfectly fine. on new year's eve, on birthdays, toasts in general.. something "festive".

I too have a glas, then. just that I blame social obligations and have my fun

I'm more of a wine and beer guy, drink the occasional whisky, but shy away from anything "too much" most of the time;

small quantities of better quality (not the "best", I couldn't bear to pay a stupid amount of money for a ""good"" bottle; the point where I can have several big xwing minis per bottle is the "too much" point^^)..

and then I pour ice cubes and/or cola in ... kidding
