Hunted By the Inquisitor - Official Preview!

That is a **** fine dial. Rudor isn't going to last too long to use his ability, but it will be interesting. Nice to see the V1 at 16 pts.

But Guidance Chips is the ordnance fix we've all been waiting for. Free Palpatines on your ordnance!!! At 0 pts too. I like how it adds crits with higher Atk, a bit of an extra incentive to use ordnance on the big attackers. Nera Dantels is going to be fun with Proton Torpedoes. Launching all the crits wherever.

I wonder if his ability will trigger twice to TLT's.... during his turn, Target lock (get evade) get shot at TLT 1 Barrel roll PTL Boost out of range/in range 1 for shot two?

It says "after defending", which implies he takes an action following any attack (not a declaration of attack).

Which means, yes, The Other Baron will get two actions if targeted by TLTs.

Assuming he survives multiple attacks, he can continue to take free actions as long as he has any still available.

Yeah, Blount with the tracers is going to be sick. "Lock on to that explosion and fire!" (Yeah, it's from a different franchise, sue me!)

Wonder if Chimp Nera can be viable. Sure hope so.

Nera with Deadeye, Extra Munitions, Proton Torpedoes, and Guidance Chimps is only 33 points and a serious threat to anyone who tries to arc dodge her without getting into range 1.

Yes, that was the build I was thinking of too. Tempting to add a system, but it's probably better to keep her as cheap as possible. Probably not a bad wingwoman for Poe, since he wants to get close.

I KNEW I'd love this thing!

A three agility ship with access to autothrusters, I'd say it's plausible for Rudor to survive a few TLT volleys

Amusing thought: he could, potentially, survive the first volley and then use his free action to boost into R1 or BR out of R3, and I assume then be out of range of the second volley.

I just realized that B-Wings with Torpedoes are COMPLETELY VIABLE NOW.

So give Valen Rudor the title ... have him target lock and take his free evade. Then he gets shot, and after defending he takes focus.

He'll have a target lock and focus for his attack and he had an evade token for at least one time when he got shot. Even if the opponent purposely avoids shooting him, you still have a target lock for his attack and you deterred your opponent from trying to damage him. Not bad!

Probably don't want to take Push the Limit with him, though, so you can get that free action. Maybe Juke, in case you don't have to use your evade token on defense? (It lets you change an opponent's evade dice result to a focus result when you're attacking with an evade token.)

Actually, Juke would go nicely with the TIE/v1 title in general.

I just realized I need the other Inquisitor pilots: the Brothers and the Sisters. Get on that FFG, ASAP. :)

(NOT sure how they'll do it... future aces pack, seperate expansions. Doesn't seem like it could happen, but I want 'em)

I love this ship so much...can't wait to fly the Inquisitor with Jax and the Palpmobile...

Yep. And the new crew for E2 is gonna be insane on them. B-wings are right back in the mix.

I'm just hoping to get more of these cards without buying multiples of the Inquistor's TIE. Maybe we'll get a bomber/gunship for Scum in Wave 9 that will have more Guidance Chimps.

Well you're not a True X wing player of you don't buy at least 3 of every pack, so can't help you there.

Unless of course that was ridiculous and there were 2 more Guidance Chips in the Punishing One. :D

:)

(I want 4 of each ship but my wallet said 'NO')

I'm not so sure about that. The rules say to check for range only when you're declaring an attack on a target. After that, there's no more checking. Since you only declare a target once with TLT, I don't think barrel rolling or boosting into Range 1 or out of Range 3 would stop the second attack from happening. (Relevant: if you destroy a ship with your first TLT shot, you don't get to pick a different ship to fire upon with your second shot — the second shot just doesn't happen.)

Rudor is bonkers

Somewhat glad he is a tiny bit better than his depiction in the source material

This is the fix Xwing needed. More awesome small ships. Insane maneuvers.

And yes. My eyes exploded after seeing Caleb Tudors ability.

I hope to see Guidance Chips in Imperial Veterans (though I also expect a missile carrying Defender to be one of the rarest things in the galaxy after that box is released)

Anyone find it odd that we are getting both Guidance Chip and Long Range Scanners here soon, which look to cure the same issue, but fill the same slot? I guess it just gives more variety, and perhaps munitions would be too strong if you could equip both, but it just seems curious. Tough call as to which is the superior option, so hopefully one upgrade wont be totally overshadowed by the other. From what I've seen, a lot of the speculated use of Long Range Scanners hasn't even been for more productive use of munitions, which is a bit sad. Hopefully Guidance Chip gets players thinking about munitions again!

I agree. However, you can use this ability to get clear of a Stresshog, if you're at range two.

There does not appear to be any Guidance Chips in the Imperial Veterans fan. However, the Punishing One appears to come with 2.

Except by the time you're done defending, the Stresshog has stressed you....

Once. Then you get an action before it attacks again.

Not while stressed, you don't.

Umm, you can't take actions when stressed. Even free actions.

Try Predator instead of Deadeye. Predator works on _every_ attack, not just the munitions. And the reroll makes up for having spent TL.

A Proton Torpedo + Chimp lets you turn 1 focus into a crit automatically, and 1 miss into a crit automatically. The odds are good that you'll get at least 1 other hit, and the rest can either be converted with your focus (if you have one), or your Predator reroll.

Ah, of course. Must be pre-drunk in anticipation of booze or something.

True, stressed ship can't take free actions.

Redline just became a powerhouse with GC

As did homing bombers
