I had a chance to see TFA again with my nephews on Monday and I had to explain much to their 9 and 10 year old understanding of all things from the Force universe.

In this discussion I was trying to pin down who is Rey's Father or parents as it still has not been revealed.

Here are some of the possibilities. Rank them from the most possible to least possible as you see fit.

1) Rey Skywalker

2) Rey Palpatine

3) Rey Kenobi

4) Rey [unknown Jedi lineage]

5) Rey [non-Jedi lineage]

My gut leads me to 1, 3, 4, 5, 2.

I'm thinking 1, 5, 2, 3, 4

for 5 I'm going for Rey Whitesun (mostly because that would be a fun name.)

for 4 I'l say Ray Jade (gotta keep teasing the EU crowd, right? )

She'll probably turn out to be a Skywalker tough. (Spoiler: can't have the hero and villain not be related to one another in these movies ) Altough they are leying on a bit thick, so it could be a red herring. (But I seriously doubt it with the writing in TFA.)

Could Ezra and Sabine be the parents?

She's probably just another Skywalker though.

I hadn't noticed that, will have to look for it on next viewing.

I don't think solo works as surely someone would have mentioned a daughter in the movie. Although this would follow some more of the eu stuff with the solo twins maybe.

She looks very similar to young Leia so she's Luke's daughter. Leia hugged her like she felt a connection but didn't react like seeing a long lost kid. Han didn't suspect her to be related at all.

I think she's gonna end up a Skywalker but I'd love for her to be a Kenobi!

While she might be Kenobi's daughter she looks too young for that. Age would fit grand daughter better. I'm pretty sure we saw Luke's daughter.

Or even great-grandaughter, if we go with "Obi-Wan sired a child during his time on Mandalore as a Padawan with Satine Kryze - but she kept that child's existence secret".

According to the Visual Dictionary Rey is 19 as of TFA, and TFA is 30 years after RoTJ (so 34 years after ANH).
