Fuzzy and Fuzzy Jr. Are a little sad we can't use our new toys in escalation.

We're not doing escalation on those nights. It's just alternate point amouts. People normally still play 100 point games on those nights. It was just an alternate point values to make things a little interesting.

I traveled to Issaquah for tourney at Heroic Games (yesterday, Jan 2nd) . 18 entered the tourney. I was 4-0 during Swiss rounds and 2nd seed. Won the semi-final but lost in the final to Blair Bunke. My goal for the day was the Vader alt card though, so happy with that.

I just got X-Wing and have been looking for somewhere / someone to help learn. I've been slowly digesting as much info as I can via r/xwingtmg and the rule book. Is this a good time to get in and learn or will it be mostly competition going on?

New players are always welcomed and the vets who hang out there on Friday nights (I guess I'm becoming a vet now) are all happy to see new players and always willing to take the time to explain rules and new FAQ issues that arise during game play.

In fact, other than the once a year store championship tourney (which is March 19th) even the tourneys are pretty laid back at Game Matrix. Store Championships carry a little more weight and generally bring a lot more traveling competitors.

Friday nights at Game Maxtrix are VERY laid back. It's the perfect opportunity for anyone new to Xwing to get game time in. I've only really been playing about 14 months and I call Game Matrix my home store because everyone who plays there is patient and lives up to the "fly casual" atmosphere.

As I suspected would happen, Sounders FC schedule was released today and of course... not only is there a game on 3/19 but it's a Cascadia match.

Looks like I'll be going to a lot of store championships in the Puget Sound except for the store that I call home. :-(

UNLESS it's not to late to push this out a week for the few store regular xwing players who are also season ticket holders for the greatest team in the western hemisphere? Sounders have a bye week the following weekend of the 26th.

As to date changes I think it's to late. Soounders game is at 7 we start at 11 and unless we have more then 24 people which we haven't in the past swiss should end by 6. Plenty of time for you to make the game unless you make the cut. Which is top 4.

Hey I just picked up a few models and would love to get into a few games. I work till 1030pm in Seattle and usually swing by the matrix to try and grab a war machine game but I'm supper interested into getting into playing xwing. So how late are you guys usually there on Fridays. I want to say every time I've shown up y'all have been leaving. Guess my timeing sucks. Well hopeing to makie it there tonight and next week to get in a game or two and learn the rules.

I attended Games and Gizmo's winter kit tournament yesterday. I placed 4th out of 22 after swiss and they decided not to cut. So my prize was a Gunner Alt card (participation), Acrylic Munitions tokens (5), a Poe Dameron pilot alt card, $20 in store credit as well as 20% of any store purchase after the tournament.

AND they are also having their store championship on Saturday, 3/19. :-(

Maybe March 12 is better for us? :-)

If we made moved it to March 12th, the nearest store championship that day would be Bellingham.
