What about the Yuuzhan Vong
Not likely given the time frame this game occurs in.

To say nothing of the era they came from has been completely wiped off the map in terms of canon with the release of The Force Awakens. We're more likely to see Sith Purebloods from the Old Republic era than we are to see the Vong.

Not to mention that the YV and anything attached to them are probably one of the most divisive elements in the EU... I get the impression that the various Sith (subspecies, hybrids, etc) would be very much less contentious.
I personally would love to see the Vong (especially statted out enemies) but as has been brought out it is highly unlikely.
Muun for sure

Enter the Unknown. The sourcebook for the Explorer career.
Mandalorian Human
Whatever type of creature Maz Kanata was
Mandalorian Human ( I know they're in the Rebels fan-made sourcebook, but I want to see a FFG write-up too.)
Togruta
Mandalorian Human
And yes, we should probably have Kaminoin stats, too.
I believe Verpine are in one of the AoR sourcebooks, or I would add them to the list.
Edited by Vestij Jai GalaarTogruta are in F&D core.
Mandalorian Human
They have those in every book, they're called Humans.
I really wish that the Correllians had not received a write-up as if they were a separate species... bad precedent.
Personal preferences about Corellians are irrelevant. The precedent is set.

Thus far at least, FFG does seem to agree with you as we've not seen a repeat of that approach. For my own games, I just quietly ignore they exist.
You can also make a corellian human using the standard human profile if you prefer. It's not mandatory to use the Corellian stats, which are actually useful only if you wnat to play a skilled pilot right form the start
This is pretty much the approach I take.

But what if you want to play a skilled warrior right from the start? And since FFG has set a precedent there's no reason why they couldn't put Mandalorians in.
Maybe in their own sourcebook.

Aren't there careers and skills that allow for someone to play a skilled warrior from the start?

You pick a career and specialization geared for combat and spend the points like you do with any other character concept? It's not rocket surgery.
Sanyassan. Anyone who spends their days terrorizing ewoks is okay in my book.

Skilled warriors' races are those that have either an higher brawn or a higher agility as they modify the result with the weapons abilties.
One of the beauties of this system is how any inherent advantage a character with a minmaxed species/class combo has is quickly rendered irrelevant by earned XP.
Oh, your Corellian Smuggler has three yellows in Piloting to start? After a session or two so does my Wookiee Scout, and both of us hit the same skill ceiling at five dots.
If you build the entire character around the minimal advantages they get during chargen you're severely limiting yourself both mechanically and in terms of imagination.
I want to see some clones made, anybody else thinking this?
