Need list building help.

By Streetta, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi x-wing community,

I'm just starting out and have got my first game tomorrow.

My current ships are:

1 original core set

1 force awakens core set

1 Slave 1 expansion

1 Millennium Falcon expansion

1 Tie interceptor expansion

1 E-wing expansion

1 Tie Phantom expansion

1 Y-wing expansion

1 Tie Advance expansion

1 B-wing expansion.

1 A-wing expansions.

Is there the making of a good 100 point list with these ships and cards. Most good list's include cards like autothrusters, C-3PO and twin laser turret, none of which I have but are looking to buy by them singular. Any Suggestion?

I wouldn't worry too much about 'kicking ass and taking names' at this point. You will have more success if you take a learning attitude and analyze your games after to see how you can improve. This includes fixing list building choices as well as flying mistakes. So I wouldn't worry too much about your lists at this stage.

Having said that, building a list these days can be really overwhelming considering how big the game has grown and all the options available now. If you give an indication of what ships you are most interested in flying, I think it would be easier to make suggestions from there...

Thanks for the advice. At this stage I enjoy flying aces, but I'm not really into the two ship lists.

I assume you like Rebels, given your collection, so how about this:

Corran Horn w/ veteran instincts, FCS, R2-D2 & engine = 46

Poe Dameron w/ push the limit, BB-8 & shield = 40

Tala squad pilot = 13

99

The tala is just filler---run him ahead of your aces as a distraction. Both aces are quite independent, however, so don't feel like you have to fly them close together (you don't want to be so far a part that they can't support each other, however). Most opponents will want to kill Corran first, so use him as bait. If he loses his shields, he can run away (thanks to engine) and then regenerate with R2-D2. Meanwhile Poe wants to lay down heavy fire through his BB-8 shenanigans: dial in a green move, then use BB-8 to barrel roll. Then you activate push the limit for a 2nd action. Because you have a green move, it immediately clears the stress you got from push the limit. You can now take your regular action (third in total). Focus and Target Lock should be your preference, unless you are trying to get out of trouble or get someone in arc, then use boost + focus.

Thanks for the Advice, this community is so great.
