Taking off/Put on Mechadendrite

By eltom13, in Dark Heresy General Discussion

Hi folks!

Sometimes it would be handy for a Tech-Priest in the service of the inquisition to be able to get rid of her Mechadendrites in order to pose as someone else or just don't be so peculiar. My question: How hard is it to take off and put on Mechadendrites? Is it something a Tech-Priest can easily do on her own or does she at least need some special Servitors to do that? How long does it take?

What's your opinion?

Edit: BTW. Does a Tech-Priest sleep wearing her Mechadendrites? Seems rather inconvenient ...

My rule is that any mechadendrite of Good or Best quality can be detachable if desired (just like any cybernetic of Good quality can be made natural-looking).

The tech adept in my group only has a single optic mechadendrite, but it's been established that she detaches it when she sleeps (unless she's sleeping in an area that isn't completely secure, in which case she sleeps on her side cuddling her combat shotgun like a teddy bear).

There hasn't yet been a situation where she's needed to reattach it quickly, so I haven't really contemplated how long it would take or how difficult it would be (though I imagine that it would be comparable to zipping up an evening dress: doable by yourself but significantly easier with some help).

Keeping one eye open I guess ;-)
