How should I improve this Imperial list?

By Gamer4000, in X-Wing Squad Lists

"Zeta Ace"18

Draw Their Fire 1

Shield Upgrade 4

Carnor Jax 26

Push the Limit 3

Shield Upgrade 4

Stealth Device 3

Royal Guard TIE 0

"Whisper" 32

Veteran Instincts 1

Fire-Control System 2

Tactician 2

Advanced Cloaking Device 4

Total:100

Anything I should do to improve this with either my current stuff or any new stuff I should buy?

Dump Tactician on Whisper whisper wants 1 thing: shoot cloak decloak shoot etc etc.

dump the Zeta Ace complete and bring in Omega ace with stealth device

Whisper

adv cloak

vetran inst.

FCS

Moff Jerrod

Carnoy Jax

Stealth dev.

Twin ion E MK

Royal Tie Guard

Push the limit

Omega Ace

Stealth dev.

push the limit

makes 100 points but more defense dice and due to high pilotskill and push the limit they will jump out of enemy firing arc.

Whisper needs to Shoot clock and decloack every round

And due to Omega's ability to change all results to critical for an focus and target lock wich he can acquire in 1 round with push the limit he can give 3 crits at range 1.

that has got to hurt.

Tactician is actually pretty good on a phantom, I don't see why that would stop him from repeating his Cycle of Death. And the mk2 is useless on an Interceptor, rather bring an autothruster.

Zeta Ace with Draw their Fire is just not going to work well. First of all, Whisper's decloak is a 2 template. that is only half a base length shy of moving her out of range for draw their fire to work. The only way you can keep Whisper in range of Zeta is to really cramp your moves with her, or get Zeta so close as to possibly run into bumping issues with your own ships. Also, Carnor Jax doesn't really excel in formation flying. He can get more mileage out of his ability when he flanks or approaches the enemy on a different angle/path than the rest of your ships. Therefore, if he's tied to Zeta Ace he might not be able to stay in range 1 of the enemy as often...

Not to be a jerk, but I think you might be better off scrapping this idea and coming up with something else. The best list-building advice I can give is this: start with something you really, really want to fly (a ship or pilot or even a bunch if generics). Then think about what that ship is really good at. Find some upgrade cards that help the ship do what it is really good at. Next, think about what sort of matchups scare the crap out of you the most. What types of enemy ships do you think will really ruin your ship's day? Then find upgrades and or other ships to put in your list that totally counter the things that you think your prime ship(s) are weak against. Generally speaking, that process will give you a decent, 'take-all-comers' list...

I like Jax with Omega Leader. You can really lock down and ff many of the top aces out there. Should be able to squeeze a buzzsaw Whisper in with those two as well.
