Pick this apart please.

Probably the fact that you have two support/control ships and only one real damage dealer. Dive at and destroy the 5 point HWK, then stay behind the Y-Wing and blow that up since it's only got a forward fire arc and a crappy dial, then turn the rest onto Poe. If the Y-Wing gets even a little out of position, then can safely turn on Poe quickly and clean up the Y-Wing later.

So I was thinking with this list, I let the y-wing deal constant dmg moving slowly with the hwk and Poe in a wingman pattern with the hwk leading and Poe diagonally behind. The hwk controls incoming ships and allows por to tallon roll to get behind the on coming enemy. Which in either stressed or ionised.

Lol. Over this Christmas break all I've been doing in list building. I don't actually get to play much.

I would much rather Poe the with the r2-d2 droid. He's more survivable then corran. And uses the extra focus a lot better from Kyle katarn in the hwk-290

I run a similar list to this with only a few changes. R5-P9 on Poe instead of R2-D2, Jake Farrell instead of a Y-wing and Jan Ors on the HWK. I gotta agree with the other guy; I don't think the Y-Wing will have enough of a punch to make it worth while.

Enough punch? The Y-wing attacks 3 times... There fore activating the r3-a2 stress boy, 3 times in one round?

I think it does plenty of dmg

I also took the hwk out and added an a-wing and a z-95. I'll post that list later but it's basically more bodies and raw HP.

I missed the TLT on the Y-wing. That's what I get for working and trying to read forums at the same time. I've never found them to be as effective as an a-wing with proton rockets. Why did you replace the HWK?

Why did you replace the HWK?

I took out the hwk because I guess I don't need the focus, I could rely on good and faithful r2-d2 on him and be fine. I got rid of a 33 pt support ship with ion turret for and extra 3 raw HP being the shields from the a-wing and z-95. Two cheaper target saturation units that can block, and do a decent amount of dmg

I can see that. I like flying the HWK with evade tokens. Most people will think it's easy prey and go straight for it while Poe and Jake tear up their squad.

It only activates twice. R3-A2 activates when you declare a target. You do that for the primary attack and again for the turret attack, but you don't declare a new target for the second TLT attack, so you only get to deal two stress tokens.

As was just pointed out before me, the TLT doesn't allow an additional targeting phase, so R3-A2 only gives 2 stress a round.

It does fire thrice though. However, that's not the issue. The issue is that it's locked in a forward arc on a ship with a crappy and predictable dial. Remember, since the droid also gives the Y-Wing stress, no K-Turns. So after the initial engagement, it's quite possible you'll not get to shoot with the Y-Wing again. Though that will take some doing on your opponent's part.

Now I say all that, but this list is very similar to one I run. I use Poe, Jake, and the Y-Wing. My tactic though is to run the Y-Wing straight at their most expensive Ace, stress it up, and then use Poe and Jake to get in close and blow it up before it can recover.

I don't depend on the Y-Wing to do damage. It does stress. But an actionless Ace is a sitting duck.
