Hey all,
Considering a couple of squadrons from Shapeways... does anyone have a photo of either the ultra detail or extreme detail? Would love to see it before spending money.
Thanks!

I am wondering this exact same thing myself, about armada scale ships in general between those two materials.
Ultra is perfect. Will post pics soon.
Here you can see some more FUD models:
I've been told extreme detail is stronger, less chance of breaking. I find ultra to be too expensive as it stands though, would personally never go for extreme.
I go ultra detail. Several photos on the link in my signature.
I dont recomend Extreme Detail.
Good to know. My RPG group stole a Mu-class shuttle (looks very similar to a Lambda-class) and I want to buy a ship to represent it in larger battles. We've got the tactical-scale covered with X-Wing minis, but I just recently bought a copy of Armada to expand into fleet engagements.

Well that should probably settle it ![]()

That sounds like a fun RPG group. It's been a long time since I had enough people around interested in RPGs to get a regular group together ![]()
So I bought my 1/7000 scale cr90 corvettes with ultra frosted detail. However, my nebulon b frigates were only in white strong and flexible. These pictures aren't that great, but the frigates turned out VERY grainy while the corvettes turned out in almost perfect detail. They still may look grainy in the picture, but don't judge the cheap camera and extreme close up. I wish I had spent the extra money on the frigates to make them in ultra or extreme.

Looking at other examples, FUD seems like the way to go.
I have some squadron sized ships in FED and they aren't much improved from FUD.
Ultra it is! I hope it doesn't stink once painted up:)
I actually find the FUD squadrons to be much higher quality than the FFG squadrons. The sharper edges & smoother surfaces make them easier to paint. The only downside is that they are more brittle. I lost the end of a wing off one of my Z95s due to a 3 foot drop onto my basement floor. So be careful moving them.
I've been tempted to take a Pelta class to complete my Rebels collection! I'm just worried it'll be in wave 3 and I'm just wasting money.
Here is what I went with... a collection of shuttles:
Post pics when you get them!
I'm just here refreshing the page furiously until Mel adds the Upsilon Class Shuttle
I'm still waiting on the 5 shuttles used in the clone wars he has not gotten to yet.
Nu-class Attack Shuttle
Nu-class Cargo Shuttle
2 different Jedi Shuttles
And The Chancellor's Shuttle
Add in a Recusant class, and my Clone Wars oreder is set!
