First Rebel fleet, 400pts

Hey guys,

Just got my hands on a bunch of post-Christmas swag so I figured I try and scrape it together into a usable fleet. Please bear in mind I'm a total noob, had to core set for about a week now and played all of about 3 games with another newbie and my reluctant girlfriend so any feedback is good!

MC30c Torpedo Frigate
- Foresight
- Ordnance Experts
- Rapid Reload

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate
- Yavaris
- Wing Commander

1 Luke Skywalker

3 X-Wing Squadrons

So basically, the idea is to have the fleet operate in two halves - the MC's and the Nebulon + Luke and co.

For the MC's, I'm setting that up as a simple tank'n'spank scenario with MC80 (hopefully) sopping up as much fire as possible while it's broadsides + the MC30c deliver some close range spankings. I've intentionally made the MC80 a tank with the hope the it's firepower and point cost will make it a tempting target.

The Neb + Luke and co may need to operate as a fighter speed bump against swarmy fleets, or they can single out a juicy target to bomb to death if enemy squadrons aren't such an issue.

If it helps, the kit I have access to at the moment; Core set, MC80, MC30, 1 Rebel Fighter Squadron. I'll probably be grabbing another unit in the next month or so, I'm thinking Assault frigate but open to suggestions!

I'd consider running some a-wings over pure x-wings as they are pretty snazzy atm: speed 5, counter 2 and black vs ships. Enhanced armament + ackbar is powerful but could be overkill, I'd suggest running x17 turbolasers instead of enhanced armaments as they nerf any attempts to redirect the stupid amount of damage being thrown out.

I had wondered about the stupid amount of dice the MC80 could throw out, but I wasn't sure how to go about "safe guarding" those dice. X17's sound like a good plan though, I'll definitely give them a go!

A-Wings sound pretty neat, I may swap out the X's for A's once I get my hands on another fighter squadron. I had also thought about blending in a couple of rogues, maybe like a Han and a pair of YT-2400's but I'm not sure if this is the right fleet for that to work.
