Well this is disgusting. 58 point Super Dash, Naked Chewbacca

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in X-Wing Squad Lists

You fly your typical game ruining overpowered 58 point Super Dash, which gets even more game ruining once Kanan Jarrus comes out.

For those not aware, that's Push the Limit, Outrider, Engine Upgrade, Heavy Laser Cannon, and your choice of 3 point crew (best one currently is Kyle Katarn) on Dash Rendar flying the YT-2400.

And you have 42 points left. Oh boy, Chewy is 42 points. Yay, Turretwing.

This is a try hard list for lazy power gamers that want the easiest , powerful list. This could be beaten but that fact that it take zero skill outside making sure dash stays at range 2-3 which is a joke for players with a few games under their belt. Just wait for the Ghost to drop...... Also another broken list my wife used against me is.

Miranda Doni (29)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

Chewbacca (4)

Han Solo (46)

Predator (3)

C-3PO (3)

R2-D2 (Crew) (4)

Engine Upgrade (4)

Millennium Falcon (1)

Total: 100

Fat Han with Miranda. Han is stupid by himself but with Miranda she can shoot twice with her lasers and drop the first shot two dice to keep her shields up and when you want to throw more dice get in range one and burn a shield to throw four. When she takes her first damage card discard it and get a shield back. It doesn't have an much dice but good luck dropping this in a tournament with timed rounds.

If these kinds of lists are so game ruining and OP, why didn't any of them win at Worlds this year?

When I say OP I am speaking from a noob to pro point of view. These are lists someone who just started the game could go to a local tournament and do very well with. However a pro could use different lists and come on top. For example using blocking and obscures to win the day. Also Paul(can't remember his name) won the year before with fat Han and 3 tala squadrons. In my opinion he just decided not to use a large ship again this last year lol.

I made a similar list a few days ago! It was: Han+Predator+Lando+Kyle+Exp.Interface+Falcon title with Miranda+TLT+Jan Ors+Ion Bomb+Munitions

I decided not to go for C3PO since it's overused and it has a lot of counters now but with this Han i'm getting 1 guaranteed evade token as long as i'm shedding stress eith greens (focus from kyle that gets turned into evade by Jan) then i can take an action to evade and use EI to get up to 2 extra evades with Lando.

The thing with Super Dash is that when flown with Corran you have to sacrifice things from either ships' optimal power loadout. So instead of a 42 point Corran why not just Chewbacca?

And what about Leebo crew and Advanced SLAM on Miranda? When you SLAM you can then boost. Should be far enough away that the forced ion maneuver can be easily planned around.

Yeah I always want to try and use dash, but he's so... Bleh for his points

You sir are a cruel person.

2 fat turrets.

Not really. A naked Chewbacca is pretty easy to kill. Even if you can't deal crits, he will melt quickly to focussed fire, and lacks the ability to avoid it.

Dash with Kanan Jarrus becomes more unpredictable (perhaps), but loses dice modification if he uses BR + boost. So he's even worse against opposing turrets (he can't arc-dodge those) and higher PS aces have less to fear from his unmodified return shots...

Yes, but it all depends on the list you fly.

ew naked wookie

anyway, naked falcon is free points. No boost, no gunner, no c3po + evade immortal bull

it's a stupid, mindless, fun-free chore of a slog, but it's pretty easy to beat. I'd much rather fly Dash with someone useful, like a pair of crackshot + PTL Greenies

I haven't seen much Dash at all, really.

I faced the following build the other day, and had no idea how to fly against it:

Dash

Outrider

HLC

R2-D2

2 Naked Blue Squadron B Wings

I had Imp Boba and Vader. I was able to destroy Dash only because I hit him with two AHM and 2 Proton Bombs. When he blew up, he still had 4 shields.

How do you fly against a list like that? You can't joust the B wings, and Dash is tough. Had I not been able to deal so many crits, I would have been tabled without a kill. I ended up losing, both B's on the table with shields intact.

So what are your thoughts on attacking a build like this? I'm pretty sure I know a guy that will show up with some version of this at our tournament next week, would love to hear your strategies.

You mean naked chewie or double bs?

Either way, you want Dash out first if at all possible

If someone shoves chewie in your face, enjoy the free points . he's far less sturdy and scary than two BSPs

Fly something that can induce stress. Then stop making Superdash out to be some unstoppable menace.

Please for the love of god, look at the Worlds rankings.

Dash placed 8th, 12th, 25th at Worlds.

Whisper was runner up at 2014 Worlds and lost to its direct counter.

R3-a2, god of stress, makes Dash a sad panda :(

Kanan won't do **** against double stress either

This assumes that you'll be able to get the game ruining POS in arc with your stresshog with its entirely green dial and boost and barrel roll.

Good luck having a chance with like, a Kirahxz or something. Straight up autoloss.

So I don't have a turret in my squad, I'm not flying Panic Attack, and I don't have Soontir. ******* autoloss, great. Giving a ship better than pre-nerf phantom mobility /needs/ to happen, right?

FTFY

Also, why bring this up now? This "list" has been possible since the moment "SuperDash" was "discovered", and you're just now worried that it's possible? Shut up.

It won the US Nationals.

I'm of the opinion that the Phantom was one of two reasons why the fat PWT became THE meta in wave 4. Folks who can't catch the Phantom got sick of losing to something that took just as little skill. I might have murdered pre-nerf phantoms without a turret, glory be to Stressbot forever may he remain relevant, but not everyone could do the same. Not because they sucked or were unimaginative, but because they just didn't want to stress about something so ridiculous.

1.) I don't understand how you expect me to outfly my opponent when he has a turret ship with a dial better than a TIE Fighter's that's going to be all green soon with large ship boost and BR. Sorry that I can't git gud and be omniscient. You sound like someone who didn't think the Phantom should have been nerfed.

1.5.) Hey, how about you Super Dash players stop smearing ice cream bars on your face and play a real list? One that requires thought and not just seeing where your opponent moves to and boosting and barrel rolling the other way? Why don't you stop sucking at being a pilot? Christ, FFG even stopped allowing boosts or BR's off the map for you bumper bowlers.

2.) I'm not worried that it's possible. I just suddenly realized that it could exist.

3.) Why is the word 'list'' in scare quotes?

This is why I hate super Dash. Expecting me to deal with a ship that can boost barrel roll on a large base every turn is ridiculous. Yes, it can be done but it requires you to be a mastermind while your opponent can just, " green right bank, angled boost, barrel roll lol" and jump halway across the map.

I remember there was an article on Team Covenant or something about a swarm player that setup his ships in such a formation that it would expand and suddenly collapse on a pre-nerf phantom. So this mastermind outplayed the **** out of his opponent with a no skill autowin button and guess what? He was rewarded with a loss for it.

3.) Why is the word 'list'' in scare quotes?

1) Sounds like your problem, not mine. If a Dash with Kanan is Boosting and Barrel Rolling every turn, it will have 0 modifications for either attack or defense. And don't put words in my mouth. The Phantom needed to be fixed, it was fixed, shut up.

1.5) Name-calling is completely unnecessary. There is still thought involved in flying turrets. Is it as intensive as flying an arced jouster? No. Can you pick random maneuvers and win every game? No. You choose the right upgrades and your list is easier to fly, too. Should someone who slaps an R2 Astromech on his Y-Wing feel bad because it's easier to fly than one without?? As for changing the interaction with the board edge, it didn't make sense that a PS11 Darth Vader would accidentally flee a battle. Oh, boo hoo, you can gloat in your opponent's face when the board edge destroys his Phantom for you. I don't think I've ever even seen it happen.

2) So? Why the hell do more bitching and moaning about it then?

3) What the hell are "scare quotes"? I put "list" in quotes because no one has ever flown it because, as pointed out above, Chewie is easy points.

First of all, his opponent chose literally the single maneuver that would get him out of the trap. If I remember correctly, it was Morgan Reid and Dallas Parker, two of the top players in the world. Secondly, as noted, that was pre-nerf Phantom and therefore not a problem any more. Shut up.
