Anybody tried him before with the new 'homers'?

When you get a lucky draw for that crit , you could get rid of corran or an a-wing ace or echo without rolling a die :ph34r:

Could also work well against other z-95's or m3-A1's.

Anybody flown him before? Only drawback is that VI puts him at PS 8.

It's fairly situational given the R2 only range band of the AHM. Yes, you might get lucky but I think you're sinking a fifth of your squad points into a ship that is literally a one-trick pony, and even then one that relies on your opponent being careless and allowing himself to get caught at R2.

I'm sure it's done. It can certainly be powerful but has to be flown well and get lucky on the crit draw.

I prefer deadeye on Blount, that way you just focus and blast whatever comes into your range, works great with your choice of missle.

or fly him next to Cracken and get him to hand Blount a TL during the combat phase when he knows exactly who to target

I agree that it's situational, but it's not a 1 trick pony. The Z-95 is still on the board after it fires it's missile, and is a usefull ship :)

Deadeye would work, but i prefer deadeye on ships with multiple munitions slots. Feels like a waste for just one shot!

I sometimes take that on nera dantels, and armed to the teeth tie bombers!

Cracken with clusters and Blount with assault missiles and a Tala with ordnance. Stick swarm on Blount and Cracken and Roark in the Crow and you have 3 shooting at PS 12, 2 actions to subordinates from Cracken and a really good chance of ruining somebody's day.

Idea: You throw nothing but Crackshot on Blount and just use him to strip the Stealth Device off of Soontir while also having a Crackshot ship.

I like that one! I have used roark before and found his ability to be very good! I supported a beefed up keyan farlander with him, shooting a HLC at PS12.

List was something like this:

Keyan : HLC + gunner + swarm tactics + fire control system

Gold Y wing : ion cannon turret + R2 astro

roark + ion cannon turret + jan ors + stealth device

Jan ors' evade option for the b)wing really helps to see it through! The stealth device on the hWK kept it around just a bit more.

That is something I like about Blount, he is tied for the cheapest ept the rebels have, but unlike the green squadron pilot he has a pilot ability that does something and is ps6.

Yes he is! I only use the original trilogy ships, but i'm thinking about breaking 'my rule' and getting a Z-95. I really want that wingman card, to have someone fly next to my stressbot Y wing . Might as well use it while i'm at it.

Thinking about something like this:

gold Y wing + ion turret+ stressbot+ BTL

cracken + wingman

Ideal scenario , Y wing shoots with main gun gets 1 stress to cause 1 stress, then with ion cannon another stress. Use target lock and focus (you get one free from when cracken attacks)to make sure you ion the opponent.

Next turn, remove 1 stress with green maneuver, remove second stress at start of combat phase with wingman, get free action when cracken shoots again, and repeat from last round. (only with target lock OR focus this time)

If it goes well, you get an enemy ship with 4 stress tokens that has got 2 ion tokens, so will have not cleared that stress.

Off course this is in ideal circumstances. This won't work against a large ship because the 2 range on the ion turret, and their big bases. Might be worth getting ion pulse missile on cracken for that range 3 ion token, or double ion in a turn.

But as said, needs everything just right to work.

It's not bad. I still prefer the old Ion Pulse Missiles. Better range and the crit from AHM ends up being 1 damage most of the time. The Ion token is a real threat though.

Blount with IPM makes for a large arc that no ace wants any part of. The only drawback is that most aces can combine fire him off of the board before he can shoot.

First you must catch him in R3 for TL, and then cath him after that for a shot.

and then draw a tasty crit.

Wich can be used to your advantage. If they se him as a threat and focus fire on him, they aren't shooting at the rest of the list.

Not saying it's the best combo, but has it's uses.
