Maybe for 1 point I'd say yes. Give me the Lone Wolf. Or if the range limit was only band one.

I don't know, I feel like for two points there is better options. I'd even take an init bid over Lone Wolf. Am I missing something? This ability feels like hype to me...

Lone Wolf can be very powerful on Luke once he is all alone. He ends up hitting hard and being hard to take out.

Depends on the Team and your way of flying.

For my part, Lonewolf is one of the best EPT in the Game. Works wonderfully on Turr, Rexler, Poe, Luke, Guri, etc. You need to be good with your distance and some planification, but it definetly won me a couple of game.

Very solid for a lone flanker, if you don't want anything else, it's similar to Predator, but a point cheaper and works in defence as well.

Why not watch it in action? Here's the final match from the X-Wing Tournament at Gencon this year. Notice which EPT Dash Rendar is sporting. Guess who wins.

Try it. When it's good it's incredible.. predator + autothrusters for 2 pts.

Now when it's bad it doesn't exist but here's the thing, you have sole control over the range unlike AT.

It works well with a number of named Scum pilots as most of them are meant to be flown independently from other friendly ships. N'dru Suhlak is a prime candidate.I've also had success running Talonbane as a flanker with it.

it's easy to see where it's power comes in, it's not so easy to execute that. naturally, it is easier to use the fewer ships you have, but even when flying 2 ships like brobots to me it is giving up flying closer together (position) more often than not.

in conclusion: I think it's a question of taste and flying habit. I see it in good use regulary, but I myself don't like to restrict myself by it. a very good card if it fits into your style, quite useless if it does not. so: quite good balanced

As someone said, Lone Wolf is a really good upgrade on Vader because he doesn´t have autothrusters. The Lone Wolf - Recon Specialist combo is also really good. It´s basically situational which I would say is the ideal upgrade, really worth it for some ships in some games and much less ideal in other situations.

There are a lot of sucky EPTs, but Lone Wolf is not one of them. It is, however, a situational upgrade. It's not good in every list and you'll have to build around it to make the most of it.

For example, if you use Lone Wolf in a swarm list, you might find that you never get to use it because there's always a friendly within Range 1-2. On the other hand, it works pretty darned well in a list with 2-3 ships because there's less chance of having an ally close by.

With PS8 and barrel roll he can arc dodge generics and lower tier aces, with six hit points, three greens, an evade and a re-roll he's not too worried about non-Whisper VI aces, and Soontir (always does a two-speed) and Wedge (flies an X-Wing) are reasonably predictable.

My Corran loves Lone Wolf.

It can be tricky to use the ship it's on will either come in late to the fight which if you've been unlucky could be too late.

Or you may do well your opponent killing none of your ships so you've no chance to activate it.

I've never had my lone wolf ship be the last one alive.

Lone Wolf works brilliantly in the right list and in the right hands.

Those hands have not yet been mine (too many ships and or too little skill) but I have seen and suffered from it being used to great effect.

LW also brings a psychological effect. I've had opponents think I won't move into range 1-2 because my ship had the upgrade.

At the least you should be able to make it function initially as a pseudo autothrusters until things get messy. It's also really solid on starvipers btw.

This was actually a lot of fun to fly, the B-Wing keeping pace with Blue Ace nicely. Ibtisam was super predictable, but then I think all B-Wings are perhaps. Her ability, very similar to LW, felt like it pulled it's weight. Maybe it's just my luck, but Luke never made a LW reroll, and I found myself wishing I had spent the points elsewhere. BB-8 on Blue Ace would have been sick, and maybe that's the crux of the matter? I don't know. Maybe I'll run the list again and try to really proc LW.

I've run Lone Wolf on a lot of ships, and I've found that it improves my flying, even if I don't win. Brath + Lone wolf + hlc is one of my favorite ships. My first game using Poe was Poe + Lone wolf + R5P9 + autothrusters and SPOILERS









ended up a lot like that scene in The Force Awakens where he rips face everywhere. Tried IG-B with it, and a pair of things with R4 and blaster turret but that didn't work so well, maybe I'll try it with a pair of Khiraxk fighters. The point is, that you have to fly like you have the ability, and know when to give up that ability. The use of it is all in your hands. Even used it on the scum Y wing that has an ept slot. It saved him at least twice per game on defensive rerolls, which paid for it by itself, not including the rerolls on the TLT.

I've yet to make it work well, but I think that's more because I like to fly ships in a modular fashion, and consequently I get poor mileage out of LW because I forget to give that ship the appropriate separation. I'm sure it is very useful end game, though having it would also no doubt give your opponent ample reason to kill that ship before the alter stages of the game.
