I still think swarming is important.

I usually play as the Rebel Alliance. Lately I have decided to force myself to play as the Empire. What I've noticed is that the Rebels usually have stronger anti-ship squads, but can get tangled up pretty easily when swarmed on.

I usually spend around 130 points on squads in a 400 point game. Howl runner pairs so well with interceptors to make one of the strongest anti-squad mash ups. With Howl runner and swarm they get to roll 5 blues and re-roll one of those if needed.

With the right command dials and upgrades on an ISD, you could activate 5 squads and pretty much clean up groupings of enemy squads in about 2 activations. I try to play the game around squads, and once the enemy is mopped up, I chose other command dials to focus on the Capitol ships. What do you guys think?

ISD I

+Flight Controllers

+Boosted Comms

+Expanded Hanger

Controls out to long range, can move up to 6 squads (dial+token), adds 1 blue die to ISD activated squads.

+Howlrunner

Her and let's say four interceptors get to drop in swinging 1x4 blue + 4x6 blue. On paper, it looks to smite the Dengar/Vader shield in short order.

Personally i feel the ISD and VSD both make excellent carriers even without boosted comms and expanded hangers. I skimp on points there for other upgrades.

Howl plus interceptors is deadly.

Admiral chiraneau plus mauler is broken.

Rhymer plus anything is awesone.

I've been finding myself taking these three combos in every list. They just always work out for me.

I like to see some vids of swarms and just using squads in general as I still don't know not know how to use them.

VSD with corrupter is good for a bomber strategy.
