F'ing F/Os

By Shrapnelbait, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I wanted to try out my new Tie FOs in a build, so I did this:

Omega Leader

-Comm Relay

-Juke

Omega Ace

-Push the Limit

Epsilon Leader

Soonter Fel

-Push the Limit

-Autothrusters

I kept the FOs in a pinwheel formation for as long as possible, and let Soonter fly flanking, but still close. Omega Leader was enough of a threat that Soonter wasn't shot at often, freeing him to wreak havoc the way he does. In the second game against Chewy in the Falcon, Omega leader absolutely wrecked him, using Juke to deny him any evade whatsoever. Epsilon removed any stress from the S-loops, and when Soonter was close enough, removed the stress from him too, letting him do any maneuver of his choice after stacking.

One of the nice parts was that all of the ships were good in their own right, but didn't hand the opponent very many points if he got one or two of them.

Those two omega pilots are the last F/Os id put in a list. It also dilutes your soontir build. Keep soontir his traditional: PTL+AT+stealth.

that frees up 65 points.

If you want Soontir as the fulcrum of your list then...

suggestions:

1) 2XOmega+crackshot, wampa, chaser=99 points

2) Zeta leader+wired+comms, Whisper, VI, tactician, ACD, FCS=100

Omega Leader is the boss!

Glad to hear Epsilon was useful - im still not sure about him..

Problem 1: I only have one crackshot

Problem 2: I don't buy the epic ships, so I don't have the alternate TIE pilots

Problem 3: I don't have a Phantom

Mostly I was looking at a build that would justify owning three FOs, and seeing if they were worth putting in a list together. As it turns out, I used Epsilon's ability multiple times, and Omega Ace's ability was very useful for jamming a few important crits through.

I have been building this list the last few days since I got my FO TIEs. Hopefully I will be testing it tomorrow:

--100 points--

“Omega Leader” (29)
TIE/fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2), Stealth Device (3)
Omega Squadron Pilot (18) x 2
TIE/fo Fighter (17), Crack Shot (1)
Soontir Fel (35)
TIE Interceptor (27), Royal Guard TIE (0), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3)
You get the standard Fel along with your three FO TIEs, one of which is the amazing Omega Leader. Lots of damage mitigation through Juke and Crackshots. Doesn't have the named FO TIEs but has some efficiency.

Is what I'm looking at running next game night only change I'm thinking is dropping the engine off the FO and changing Whispers IA to a Rec Spec.
