What do you want to see the most?

By TechnoGolem, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I absolutely love this game but I can't help but feel it needs a lot more than we currently have. There are the top five additions I'd like to see the most.

1) Rodian Jedi Hero - Bonus points if he wears light armor and wields dual lightsabers. When I was a kid flipping through channels it was seeing Greedo that caused me to start watching. I've been a huge fan of Rodians ever since and play a Jedi Rodian in any game that will let me.

2) Map Packs - Sure we can get them in the core set and the two expansions but I'd love to see a product released that was just map tiles. I love the Hoth set but this is probably the last we will see of snow tiles in expansions. This would be a great way of giving us more options without all the effort that a normal expansion creates.

3) Scout Trooper Pack - My favorite trooper has always been the Scout Trooper. I'd love to get a pack that was 2 or 3 Scout Troopers or 1 riding a speeder bike. I will admit that a speeder bike probably wouldn't work in this game due to the small maps and their high speed.

4) Snow Speeder - With Hoth I want to see Snow Speeders. Unfortunately they suffer from the same problems of speeder bikes but made worse due to them being bigger.

5) Crime Lord Expansion - It doesn't have to be Jabba but I'd love an expansion based on his palace. Give us a Hutt and several fringe characters. Gramorian bodyguards would be fantastic. It would also be a good way to slip in other generic or popular bounty hunters.

So what are some of the things you want to see added to the game?

Rodians are awesome. I dont know about a Rodian Jedi, but we could for sure use some more nonhuman heros (I'm partial to Ithorians myself, thinking about the conditions that would drive such peaceful creatures to war fascinates me)

Dismounted scout troopers would be easy. Just give the *illusion of speed and mobility by making them worse fighters than stock troopers, but let them deploy anywhere, as if they rode there. Also I wouldn't argue if they skipped the speederbikes and gave one a rocket launcher instead.

I don't know about a Rodian specifically, but we definitely need more Force users, Rebel and Imperial. In particular, we need another Force user hero for the campaign, and I'm not picky about what style of Force user they are. On the Imperial side, an inquisitor could make for a good campaign villain.

I think we need printed, poster skirmish maps more than we need map tile sets. Setup time is the biggest drag on my enjoyment of skirmish.

Scout Troopers could be a good addition. I'm not sure exactly how you would make them significantly different from Stormtroopers. Maybe speed 5 and some special ability giving friendly troopers some kind of bonus when attacking an enemy the Scout Trooper has line of sight to. Speeder bikes don't fit with the maps, though, from my perspective (and the same goes for snow speeders).

An expansion more focused on the galaxy's scum and villainy would be great. Whether the mail villain was Jabba, some other Hutt, someone from Black Sun, or someone else, a campaign box focused on the underworld would add a lot to the game.

Um, freakin Lando, for cryin out loud?

Here's the thing, there are a lot of things I would like to see *in tue game, but not necessarily represented by figures. I mean, they made it super clear that you were taking orders from a woman in the core campaign, but never once was the name "Mon Mothma" ever said. I want more names dropped. I want the game enmeshed the the wonderful world of Star Wars. Have us running a diversion for Garm Bel Iblis. Have us acting as rear guard for a Bothan Infiltration team under Koth Melan. There are names, use them.

See, and I was just thinking we already had *too many* force using heroes available already. I mean, in the time period the game takes place in, we know there is only one Jedi (unless Yoda is lying) and there are only two Sith (Three, if we count Goofball Starkiller) unless the game creates or uses an entirely new order of space wizards (Dathomiri Nightsisters maybe?), there's not much room for another force user. Without training the most anyone develops naturally is, like, an enhanced intuition, like Anakin had as a podracer (as loath as I am to reference Phantom Menace). People dont just *spontaneously* manifest force abilities. That would be stupid, and go against everything we already know about force users. Nobody just, out of the blue, starts Mind tricking people or force pushing things. Diala Passil pushed the realm of reasonable doubt pretty far (she's not *technically* a Jedi)

Well ya, Lando is a certain.

As for jedi I agree that we already have too many. Luke was practically the last jedi left in the movies, or atleast the last known Jedi... However now we are supposed to accept that the rebellion had a jedi all along? Thats just another reason why the Force Unleashed is dumb. Also the more jedi you have just makes Luke, Leia, and the others less unique and special. Like how in the prequels being a jedi meant nothing compared to the OT since even little kids had lightsabers.

I would love a dedicated scum expansion. Black Sun, with Prince Xizor, or at least a Falleen Vigo, and tons of different assassins/thugs etc.

It would be kinda cool if there was a side mission where you end up working with an Imperial Agent to take down some black sun guy, kinda like the situation that happened in "Scoundrels", the 2013 Han Solo book by Zahn.

Also, I know we have the ISB Agenda cards, but it would be sweet to have a named ISB unique character.

I agree with wanting some speedy/stealthy scout troopers. They have the coolest armor/helmet.

As a huge fan of the novels, there are tons of characters I would love to see, but all I can do is hope.

As for more generic stuff: Pretty much just want more variety with species.

I would love to see a hacker type character for scum, that does things with terminals like R2 or Teft.

A melee assassin could be fun, with some kind of stealth mechanic, like you need to draw lines to 3-4 of their corners to see them, or a built in Ambush like buff.

Gah, tons of cool things they could do. I like this seemingly new trend of the figure packs being things that are not included in big box sets.It gives them way more options for cool new units that don't fit in anywhere else.

For another melee hero they could do a Teras Kasi artist. Perhaps his deal is that s/he chooses what 2 dice to use instead of using the weapon's dice pool. One of the 4 exp skills could be 'exhaust this card to gain focus' and most of his skills could revolve around the Focus condition and resting.

Eh, I really don't mind there being a few more Jedi. Over the years I've taken what Yoda said from literally to figuratively. Legends material ignored Yoda saying Luke was the last of the Jedi and it seems like current cannon will do the same with Kanan, Erza, and Ashoka being alive 5 years before A New Hope. Sure, they could die before then but I doubt it.

As much as I love Legends characters I often wonder if they should be used anymore. We have a new canon now which means the loss of some great characters but it also means we wipe the slate clean and get to remove many awful characters. So far I am okay with FFG giving us new characters along with a few cannon characters. I kind of hope they stick with this. As much as I love Thrawn or Mara Jade it would be a bit weird having them in the game.

It would be nice to see some of the better legends characters work their way into current cannon. Maybe then it wouldn't feel weird to have them in the game.

Once I made it through the series (I-VI and the Clone Wars series), I began to wonder if what Yoda said was only true...from a certain point of view.

Dooku left the order. Tano left the order. How many others did as well? I doubt that they would have forsaken their abilities, although they're probably much more careful about using them. I think it stands to reason that there could be a few former Jedi ready to help the Rebellion.

But that does not mean that I think the game should be peppered with former Jedi or Sith apprentices--although I'd like to see a few individuals, reluctant to get involved, living on the fringes, get drawn into the fight.

Oops meant to put Xizor after Dash. Though I could always think of a part 2. :P

I'd be happy if they released special "legends" expansions for us older fans, even if they were skirmish only so the campaign game was still "Canon".

Oh I fully admit there is a lot of bad stuff in the new canon, mostly because of the prequels, but at least we got rid of stuff like a crying mountain.

Sullustans!

I can't imagine rebels without Sullustans. Even though they were mainly pilots, not ground forces, but I'd really like to see them.

They had sullustan army regiments in the rebellion game. They were the weakest soldiers, no question.

I feel like this is a logical progression, but the Empire needs something more at the moment.

Possibly:

Engineers? Healers for Droids and Vehicles in the Empire's ranks, with possible Turret trap mechanics to put at an AT-ST's feet. (Helping Vehicles make a come-back)

Imperial Shocktroopers? Jetpack backed troopers that are fast as all hell.

More mercenaries! There are a lot of imperial and rebel figures in comparison.

I kinda feel that Imperial pilot figures could be a fix for vehicles, seeing as none of the other factions have them. Maybe have it where you can place a figure with the "Pilot" ability or something on a Vehicle's activation card Focusing it every round, and probably giving it an option to spend an action to recover from damage?

I'd love to see some Rebel and Imperial pilots, and some craft for them to pilot.
