Amassing a Rebel Fleet...

Greetings Armada Enthusiasts,

I picked up a core set a few weeks ago and have gotten a few beginner games in with it. For Christmas I got two Assault Frigate Mark IIs, the CR90 expansion, and the Nebulon-B expansion! I am working on building up a 400 point rebel fleet to participate in the local scene this year (first of my local store's winter tournament and possibly the store championship) as well as some casual games here and there when I move.

I obviously need to get some more games in, as I have not played a full match. But what should I get from wave two to help bulk up my rebel fleet?

I have my eye on the unavailable rebel fighter expansion (currently shipping according to FFG) and also Rogues and Villains, Home One, and the MC30c frigate. I really like the concept behind the Mark IIs with enhanced armaments so I want that to be the foundation for my list. I figure adding the Home One in there with Ackbar seems like a solid starting point. What else should I be getting to bulk up the fleet? Or would the Home One be enough?

If I can get a hold of the Rebel Fighter expansion...should I get more than one?

Said it once, saying it again, the one-of-everything approach is great with rebels. Enjoy the ride, man!

I think you are well and good on the ship side. I recommend purchasing Rebel Squadron and Rovues and Villains pack. This will enhance learning with what you have.

All the upgrades are scattered throughout both factions' expansions, so I would pair up with someone who doesnt mind you proxying upgrades, to help you nail down what expansions you need to target for future purchases.

Honestly, minus the squadrons, you have the ingredients for a fine Rebel fleet.

You should be good even with one fighter pack. Will you eventually want more? Probably. But it's not a must have.

You really have a good mix of stuff for a 400 point fleets. I'm not a fan of the MC80. So other than the cards, you're not missing much.

MC30 is almost a must if you ever intend to run Mon Mothma. You put her on a loaded Foresight, and she is almost invulnerable. MC80s are decent if upgraded right, but even Ackbar couldn't kill my foresight. It is a must for a Rebel fleet.

Turbolaser reroute circuits card.

That card is selling for 15.99 on Ebay UK - well over 20 dollars, for the card. I'd rather spend another fiver and get a duplicate of the entire package.

All depends on budget but I am almost exclusively Rebels and I went with R&V x2, Rebel Squadrons x2, Mc80 X1 and Mc30 x2. In addition to what you already have this would make a top notch Rebel fleet with tons of possibilities.
