well from what ive seen getting extra fighter packs is near impossible or stupidly expensive.

Thanks for the input, guys, and for the OP who started this thread. I also got a starter box for Christmas, so this thread has been immensely helpful. I immediately went out and got a Rebel and an Imperial fighter expansion at my FLGS. I think next I will get the Gladiator and the MC-30c sometime on next month's paycheck. I have yet to play a game, but hopefully this week I can fit in a few games with a friend of mine who also got a starter box. (We might have enough for 300 points, if we use a ton of fighters?)

I love using the squads, play with what you have and get good at it. I made the mistake of trying to buy stuff then feeling lost while playing.

That's ten expansions...a lot more than the two or three I can afford right now...

Go with an ISD and 2 packs of fighters.

At this stage in the game you can survive going slow.
