Anyone know the release date for the Wave 2 bags? Also, what is the best way to order (amazon, feldherr website) to minimize shipping costs (U.S.)?
Release date is the 22nd Jan.
My Transporter bag, the wave 2 foam trays, and the new fighter foam trays shipped yesterday. They should now be available
Can someone post a quick 1-2 minute video or pictures of it filled? The pictures don't really help me get an idea of the size of the bag/trays etc.

Will do when I get my stuff.
same. won't be hard to get me to take a picture of it
The release date was pushed back to 1/25...which was yesterday, but it still lists it as a pre-order. I'm considering getting this, but only from a US retailer as the shipping is way too much.
Alternatively, how does Feldherr Compare to Battle Foam?

Dunno about battle foam, but the Feldherr bag for wave one is awesome. I am stoked to pick up the wave 2 bag, but I'm praying it gets put on amazon, because thats a solid 30 bucks in shipping I wouldn't have to pay.
I like the look of the foam trays for the MC80, ISD and twelve squadron layout.
I don't like the one's for the Raider and MC30 ![]()
Having an entire foamtray for only two Raiders or MC30's is a joke ![]()
There should be space for at least three if not four ships in one tray.
Instead the decided to waste space for squadrons, which already have a dedicated twelve squadron layout tray.

Anyway that's MHO.
I think they do pretty well with only having 2 ships. Sure they could replace the squadron sections with slots for 2 more but then they would not have room for the bases. . .
Has anyone used their pick and pluck foam to supplement their official trays? I could see that solving the not-efficiently-utilized-space issue, but getting the best size tray could be trial and error...
I have their wave 1 bag (awesome), which comes with one of the pick and pluck trays. It took a little planning, but I was able to fit a nebulon, it's base and several squadrons. Its not as pretty as the prefitted foam but it works.
I'm impatiently waiting for a U.S. distributor to have the wave 2 bag as the direct shipping cost is prohibitive.
I'm tracking my parcel from them, full Wave 1 & Wave 2 boxes plus a backpack. It's arrived in the UK, so hopefully delivery will be tomorrow!
lucky, mine will take a little longer. My German's not good enough to tell when
It's arrived, and very happy with it all.
The 6 foam pieces from the Wave 2 box, empty:

Wave 2 & some Wave 1 foam partly filled:

All my Armada collection and everything except the cards & tokens in the foam:

The 2 card boxes and the Feldherr backpack:

Sweet. mine made it to US yesterday, so should be soon!
Thanks for the pictures MaxTeranous. It looks very nice and compact.
It also looks like that storage scheme would drive me crazy. Still on the drawing board then. ![]()
Thank you for the pics. Does it only have room for 2 large bases?
One tray to hold two of the same large ship, and a separate foam tray to hold two heavy bases. I almost missed ordering that bases tray

Actually if you study the layout of the MC30 foam tray, you can see that there is one room for the two bases, which obviously would be stacked on top of each other, as the foam tray is like 40mm tall.
That means that if all the "silly" squadrons rooms was removed, there should be more than suficient space, for two base rooms = 4x bases, four MC30 rooms + at least one if not two rooms for dials tokes and stuff.
After all there was room for two CRV90 and Two Neb-b's and bases in one tray that was half as tall, imagine if they had made that tray 40mm tall, enabling stacking of the bases, then there would have been space for their tokes and dials too. ![]()
Likewise goes for the Raider tray, where the size of four raiders are even smaller than four MC30's.
But again valuable space is wasted on squadron rooms.

You get 2 x the large base foam, so 4 x large bases total, as you can see on the first photo. It's just as I only have 1 of each large ship, once i started putting ships into the foam the 2nd one got moved to the side ![]()

They could have done that, but then they'd have had no room in the Wave 2 box for the wave 2 squadrons ! A 7th piece of foam for the squadrons wouldn't have fit into the box.

Actually there is eight pieces of foam in the new Wave 2 bag
1x ISD foam
1x MC80 foam
2x large base foams+ space for dials and tokens
1x MC30 foam, with squadron rooms
1x Raider foam, with squadron rooms
1x New Squadron foam
1x Old Squadron foam (which is suggested to be used for dials tokes etc.)
Why not this setup.
1x ISD foam
1x MC80 foam
2x large base foams+ space for dials and tokens
1x Foam only for MC30 + space for dials and tokens
1x Foam only for Raider + space for dials and tokens
2x New Squadron foam
This just makes more sense for me as well as logistically. ![]()
I said box, not bag. In the box there's 6 pieces of foam. The photo at the top of the page is the give-away. For the bag they added the squadron foam as the bag is bigger than the box. Your suggestion wouldn't allow everything to fix in the box.
