I am pretty excited about the Imperial veterans, and I think I'd enjoy flying a 3-Defenders list, but I have a few lists and can't decide which one would work best. I gotta say I prefer a lot the /D over the x7.

So here are the lists I've come up with :

3xDelta (/D) with ion cannon : 99 points

3xDelta (/D) with MK2, one with tractor beam, one with flechette cannon, one with ion cannon : 99

3xDelta (/D) with MK2, 2 ion cannons and one tractor beam : 100

I flew the /D title, 2 games, and my initial impression is that the PS1 makes it difficult to get the shots against arc dodgers and aces. I am thinking of dropping one to use the named pilots and get two ties in, maybe 2 ties with crackshot. But it is a beast!

Based upon the testing I've done, the /D title doesn't work well on the generics. Without predator or Vessery's ability, the defender lacks the action economy to make efficient use of the second shot. A Delta with an ion cannon has one focus token to spread across a defense roll, a secondary weapon shot, and a primary weapon shot.

The X7 Delta on the other hand is extremely efficient.

Two ions and a tractor seems the way to go to me. Tractor fires first, and that way you can ionise big ships effectively as well. If the tractor hits, the overall lack of extra actions/tokens becomes a bit less of an issue due to the reduced agility.

The real trouble with this list is its expense; it'll require two Defenders, two Imp Vets, AND two Punishers. And it's not going to be hugely resilient.

Reading you all and thinking about it, I guess you are right. But I did some testing with the full ion against a superDash with Kanan Jarus PTL, and won. But the other player was really unlucky, so I guess it is not representative of truth. About the action economy, I used my tokens for the first shot, because a ionized Corran is better than an only damaged one.

I will soon try some Vessery lists and see (hopefully) how strong he is.

I have flown a list with the x7 title, and god it is efficient. The base of the list is the following : 2x Glaive Squadron Pilot w/ TIE/x7 + Juke + Stealth Device (37). You then have 26 points left for whatever you want. I have currently a 3-2 ratio, and one loss with Darth Vader left at 1 hull, with varying wingman (a stressing tie shuttle and omega leader mainly).
