Flying through huge ships

By Son0fGun, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Sorry if this has been addressed, but I haven't found it in searches yet.

A small/large ship can execute a manuever passing _through_ a huge ship, and as long as final position doesn't overlap basses, there is no negative effect?

Ulike passing through obstacle rules. Treat as normal ship movement rules.

That's how I see it, but some guys were debating the issue during a game recently.

Thanks

Quite correct. It's the same as moving through other ships. You must clear the huge ship with your final position, otherwise it counts as an overlap. And when you overlap a huge ship you roll an attack die and suffer any hits or crits you roll. So plan it carefully.

A ship is a ship when it comes to moving small and large ships. Huge ships are a little bit different but they don't alter how smaller ships fly.

Unless the huge ship flies into them. ;)

Yea. That's how I saw the ruling falling. It was just nipping at me because they never found any other errata, nor did I in any updated huge ship rules.

Thanks for the consensus.

Still doesn't change how the small ship flies except that now it needs to worry a lot more about how some other ship flies. Getting in front of another ship can often be good (blocking to prevent actions and attacks from the blocked ship toward the blocker) or bad (you're now in the ship's firing arc) but parking in front of huge is pretty much super bad as you risk getting crushed.
