Rewards & Overview of Pre-made Games?

By Ender07, in Game Masters

Hey everyone! I am getting ready to start a Force and Destiny campaign in January but I don't have all of the pre-made game books just yet. I have the CRB and I am going to be running the pre-made adventure listed in there to start off our campaign, then we will be moving to the GM screen adventure, and the BG and possibly it's expansion.

I have the rewards and what is introduced in the CRB adventure, but would anyone be able to provide the base rewards and what is chosen as the group resource in the BG as well as the adventure included with the GM screen?

Setup for my game:

I am having my group start at mid-knight-level when starting our first session (base xp for character creation + 75 xp to spend on skills/talents only) to show that they have some experience manipulating the Force. We are going to go through the first 3 sessions and play through the CRB adventure, the GM screen adventure, and the BG adventure. During this time I wanted to have the players craft their own lightsaber (obtain the hilt/crystal/knowledge), hopefully find a shared group resource I can tie in (unless they are already listed in the adventures), and learn more about their characters and how they interact with each other.

Once the first 3 sessions are done and everyone has cemented that bond together, I will be doing a "fast-forward" in time and essentially giving them an additional 75 xp to show that they have started to hone their abilities with the Force through meditation and practice with either a mentor or a holocron at their home base.

This was my way of comprising with them because they wanted to start at knight-level right away with lightsabers and I really wanted to have the aspect of lightsaber creation narrated and turned into a few sessions. I figured giving half the extra xp instead and letting them buff their PC's a bit initially, then giving the rest upon successful completion of the first 3 sessions, they will all have lightsabers and additional Force powers and be able to go from there.

The temple in the beginner set could be a great group resource as a home base with three Mentors available for the group.

Thanks villain! Does anyone else have anything other info?

There hasn’t been that much published yet. The F&D “Beginner’s Game” adventure “Mountaintop Rescue” leads into the freely available “Lure of the Lost” PDF that can be downloaded from the FFG website.

With MR, IMO the main reward is learning the game and getting the XP.

With LotL, you learn more about the game, and it’s not hard for the GM to work in ways in which the players can get their lightsaber hilts as well as their lightsaber crystals.

You also wind up with a Jedi temple with three holocrons that you can use in a wide variety of ways, and that could become a base of operations. As written, insofar as that information is required to do their local jobs, these three holocrons are relatively up-to-date with what’s going on in the Universe, minus whatever time they’ve recently been offline due to plot issues.

“Lessons from the Past” is the adventure in the back of the CRB, and works well with “Hidden Depths” from the GM Kit, and the primary material rewards are a Jedi Meditation Focus and an ancient Jedi holocron that can provide a lot of information about how the Jedi order worked thousands of years ago, although it doesn’t have more recent information.

“Hidden Depths” gives you an opportunity to lead the PCs through the process of a minor quest for their lightsaber crystals, if you didn’t already do that. You can do this one either before or after “Lessons of the Past”.

“Chronicles of the Gatekeeper” features another holocron, but this one is a little different than the others you’ve heard about or seen. One of the primary benefits of this holocron is access to a new power that is similar to, but in some ways a little different from, the basic “Foresight” power from the CRB.

“Keeping the Peace” gives you information on how to tell good Guardian stories, important elements you might want to make sure to incorporate, and provides a variety of story hooks that you could use to build adventures out of.

As far as official F&D published adventures are concerned, I think that’s about all there currently is that is available.

Oh, and personally — I like the compromise you made with the players. It lets them start halfway to “Knight Level”, but still gives them a sense that it takes some work to get to that point, and I believe it is likely to give them a better appreciation for their lightsabers. Those should be earned — both by the PCs and the players.

As others have said the beginner game module (and it's pdf) give to the players a mentor (this is the group resource) a home based, three holocrons (although you have to come up with the skills associated with each one) and limited access to a cave with kyber crystals.
