Is it time for a skirmish box

By EpicBubbleSA, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Following the recent update, a few cards got changed quite extensively.

Now the idea of including updated version of these cards in tournament packs is fine, but it kind of hampers regular joes like the people who only play the skirmish for fun or for those people that tend to move more towards the campaign side.

In addition to this there is still the problem that being competitive requires almost another box. What I mean is that one cant run 2 elite versions of say Trandoshen hunters in the Core set simply cause they didn't include enough cards.

Does FFG need to put out a Skirmish box? One that contains an extra miniature from each of the cards in the core set + 1 full set extra of elite cards + the new errata cards?

Possibly could include a few other things such as a points tracker and maybe a few new skirmish maps

Could be a good idea.

Though I saw some unboxing of Hoth, and it seems to have way more Skirmish stuff than was spoiled in the thread here. Both Skirmish Upgrades and Command Card (beyond the character specific cards).

The targeting computers are pretty fun. Kinda interesting have upgrades that are open to any faction. I kinda wanna play HK droids, with the computers, and a Luke, and then just sit there and re-roll my dice all day.

I think they should just increase the number of command cards in their big box sets, instead of having a dedicated skirmish box, but either would work. It was a nice surprise seeing all the content that wasn't spoiled when I opened up my box.

I play the campaign more then skirmish though, so my opinion is biased. I just want more stuff in the big boxes, without having to buy all the figure packs.

I'll be honest, I've never played skirmish before but I'd happily buy more miniatures for campaign and it would be really nice to get cards with the errata updates. They wouldn't have to add any new skirmish or campaign missions but I'd be thrilled if they tossed in a few more map pieces.

Aritheal : remember there is a limit on rerolling. You can only reroll a die once.

But with two separate re-roll sources, I'd argue you could re-roll up to two different dice once in any attack. Though an FAQ confirmation for that would be nice.

So with the HK three dice attack, Luke, and Targeting computer, I would have the option to re-roll all the dice, but no dice more then once? Less fun, but still funny. I didn't know the only one re-roll rule per dice. Or not since the HK already have a targeting computer? Talking about the neutral skirmish upgrade that came with RtH.

I don't know about the upgrade, still waiting for my box. But you could use luke for one die and targeting for the 2nd.

This rule is especially important for the hk ability to reroll defense die against heros ability to reroll.

Diala couldn't use foresight to reroll her defense die after you made the hk reroll it.

Can i equip a droid with targeting computer AND explosive weaponry(im loooking at you IG88)

I would love hem to do starter sets for each faction, something like 2/3 units, a characther and a vehicle, beast, whatever, with a tyle map. And a copy of each 0 point cost card, plus the cards included in each of the units in the sets individual expansion

I'm not even concerned about the miniatures...I just want enough cards! A skirmish set with enough cards to field the full number of Regular groups that come in a Core set. So 1 more Reg Trandoshan card, 2 Reg Royal Guard cards (errata'd version), 2 Elite Royal Guard cards (errata'd version), 3 Reg Officer cards (errata'd version), etc. I would pay money for that.

A Skirmish box would be ideal in the next year.

The current way the tournament rules are worded then we won't see a skirmish box soon, as players need the tiles to make the playing field.

I would love for FFG to make a skirmish box that included a start list in miniatures, cards and tokens. One for each faction, so the starting point for new players is cheaper and faster. Would do wonders for the skirmish game.

Rebels could bring something like

Luke

Wookies

Troopers

and a new large unit

Scum could bring

Boba

Tuskens

Trandos

Bantha Rider

Empire is a little trickier

Maybe

Kayn

Stormies

Heavy Stormies

AT ST or repulsor

The issue is going to be with map tiles since using actual map tiles are the standard now, not using a pre-print. If they change the map tile requirement, then you have a good idea.
