Horn A

So I'm looking to make a list with Corran flanked with a couple of A-wings but points limitations leave me unsure where to make sacrifices. So far I have 3 options:

Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Push The Limit (3)

R2 on Corran is really useful for clearing the stress and barrel roll and boost mean can get out of arc making R2-D2 less essential. The Jake build is set in stone. Took down whisper one on one and Gemmer can be tough to kill given 4 defence dice at range 1.

This build has the benefit of Tycho for higher PS and not tied to greens to remove stress so can use some of the 3 banks and turns. The sacrifice for this is the loss of FCS on Corran and also a couple points bid on initiative.

This last one is similar to the first but replaces Gemmer with a green squad so lose the extra defence dice at range 1. However, does allow me to use R2-D2 although given the arc dodging/focus-evade antics I like to pull could make movement very limited to remove stress.

Any thoughts would be appreciated (except from a-wings are rubbish you won't kill anything as I already know this and still love them).

Moving the Green from PS3 -> PS5 with VI isn't that big a deal. Give that thing Crack Shot!

I think Corran should never leave home without FCS, it suits his ability so perfectly.

I've yet to hear a convincing argument to the contrary. Of the three lists above, I like the third one best, although I'd put VI on Corran over PtL. I used to be a huge Corran+PtL fan but with the likes of Vader, Soontir and VI Poe buzzing round the meta like flies on a turd (among many other high-PS aces...) I think you need Corran to be moving last.

Move it from the GSP and give Outmaneuver to the GSP. IIRC that's the same points cost and gives you a much more versatile squadron.

I've run a similar list... the real problem will be the E-Wing will find itself hounded and focusing on staying alive more than offense, and a pair of A-Wings without Prockets can have surprisingly little bite, even with PTL.

It'll win games, no doubt, but in tournament play expect to go to time a lot.

I almost always end up going to time, it is an issue.

As for phantoms in usually pretty luckily in that not too many of them float around in my meta and I usually try to hunt them down with jake. If the phantom has initiative Jake is pretty good at getting out of arc and denying them a shot meaning he gets a shot himself when it's uncloaked
