On Vader

Can I just say, I've found Vader to be my new go to commander. His effects on red dice alone are worth it early in the game when you have plenty of defence tokens.

I'd say he easily improves your average damage output by 50%. (I'm sure the maths doesn't quite back that up but it sure is my experience).

But even more so, I'm pretty sure I lost around 4 ships over last sundays tourney through excessive rage induced damage boosting via the dark side. I definitely spent too many tokens vadering.

And I think that's absolutely great. They nailed his card.

I'd say it really depends on the build

If you are running Raiders and Gladiators, Ordnance Experts are a much better choice than having Vader as your Admiral.

If you are running something like 2 Imperial Star Destroyers, then Vader becomes a very usable option

I agree to Shadoer mostly, it comes down to how many rerolls you already have at your disposal. The more redundancy you build for, the less potent Vader seems to be. But yes, with a tailored list where Vader is the guy handing out rerolls and other options (ordnance experts, leading shots..) are switched out, he may truly shine.

What I really like with Vader is feeling like you can mix black dice ships in with your red and blue dice ships and not feel like you need to take a bunch of crit activated upgrades to justify Screed. He can also really snowball if you take out an enemy ship or two early on and get activation advantage. That way you have ships going last that can exhaust tokens for re-rolls without fear of reprisal.

Re-rolling blank reds and blacks is awesome of course but so is fishing for that accuracy on blues or dumping the extra accuracies for that matter.
