Theoretical Pilot Ability- let's play a game

By That One Guy, in X-Wing

Ok, so I'm going to write a pilot ability, and I want to see how other forum members interpret how it would work, as well as its potential uses and ramifications. It's just a fun little exercise, so here we go.

"You do not receive facedown damage cards from sources that are not an attack."

Ok! What's it mean, what's it do, how many points is it worth? GO!

Sorry to give you a lame answer, but it depends. If this is the pilot ability of a Z 95, I'd charge a lot less than if it was for a YT-1300 or VCX-100. Invulnerability from smashing into rocks,Darth Vader Crew and Sabatour are useful but it depends on the ship this pilot is one, pilot skill might also factor in as well.

Main use would be to negate stuff like Feedback Array. Not worth a lot, given the current state of things.

Ok, so what if it were on a TIE Bomber?

Ooh, no penalty for the Darth Vader card… I like it...

"Once per round, after an enemy ship with higher pilot skill than you has executed the maneuver revealed on its dial, you may perform a free barrel roll action."

"Once per round, after an enemy ship with higher pilot skill than you has executed the maneuver revealed on its dial, you may perform a free barrel roll action."

This would pair well with Enhanced Scopes, so it might be worth more on a ship with a system slot.

Maybe an arc limiter on it? That would convey the escape feeling of it a bit more and prevent it too much from being used to get into position behind someone.

To the original post's ability, "Chopper" crew becomes a 0-point way to perform actions when stressed without any downside. Tycho who? (assuming our hypothetical pilot can take crew)
