How much death is on your hands?

By RazelKorr, in Star Wars: Armada

Morbid, but gets right to the point. Below are estimates of the Crew Complement for each ship in the game, averaged to make addition easier. I'm excluding fighters because they knew what they signed up for.

CR90: 150

NEB-B: 850

AFMKII: 4,000

MC30c: 800

MC80: 1,200

RDR: 150 [using the same as the CR90 since I can't find a number]

GSD: 1,200

VSD: 4,000

ISD: 30,000 [!!!]

I only started tracking destroyed ships for the last two games [Also my first for Wave II], so right now I am [Officially] responsible for 1,500~ souls being sent to the Netherworld of the Force. Also a vacuum.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Ships have escape pods. I'm sure at least half of those folks escaped firey death.

I've only played a few games, but if memory serves I would say I have around 8000 deaths (or banishments to cramped escape pods) on my hands. No Wave 2 games yet unfortunately, so I expect that # to raise significantly when I do.

Who said I was being hard on myself? I'm certain they got to the pods, but why let them escape?

The mon calamari models really require so few crew?

Per Wookiepedia, yeah. The MC80 was a Cruise Ship until it got pressed into rebellion service, so it is probably heavily automated to make up for the Rebellion being naturally understaffed. They're also commanded exclusively by MonCal since the control mechanisms were built for them. Maybe they're more efficient? Dunno.

Good point!

There is 37000 people on an ISD not 30K and these crew numbers dont have the passengers/troops numbers (the ISD has 9700 troops)

True, if it is fully manned, but I fudged the numbers down a bit to make adding them easier since no two ships will wind up with the exact same crewcount. Besides, I would rather skip the Stormtrooper Battalion entirely and work with the Survey Corps to refine our Hyperspace routes. Just as much action, no troopers.

Just my last 3-round tournament I destroyed:

1 x ISD

1 x VSD

1 x AFII

2 x MC30

2 x CR90

So thats, 40,000 people thereabouts. Not factoring squadrons.

Not even factoring in the dead from nearly destroyed ships that escape with barely any hull left.

Oh the horror!

In my second to last game I ran a Rieekan 6 cr90 list. All but two of the ships perished (600 crew). But before they were gone they turned into ZOMBIES...

In which case we should be glad they were destroyed! The Mad Doctor Rieekan has gone too far.

This all takes place a long time ago right? So they've been dead for years.

My MKII has 4,000 people onboard while the MC80 has 1,200?

That makes my normal list 5,350 including the CR90.

How many people are on the YT-2400s? 2?

Only to freeze and suffocate in the cold of space, tumbling through the void waiting for a rescue that never comes.

/that was dark even for me

The YT-2400 has a crew of 3 but since its a smuggler ship 2 is probably right. It can also be crewed by 1.

U/NSeeger has it right. Minimum 1, up to 3. So probably about two. Also, yeah, why is the Potato so dense with people? Admittedly it says 'Under 5000', but I chopped a full fifth of that off for my estimate and it still seems excessive.

In my last tournament I lost (cough* fed as sacrifices to the squadron gods) 11 squadrons. so, 11 or so people. No ships went down.

Took down 2ISD and 1Vic = 37k x2 + 4k

78,000 souls on my bloody red fishy flippers.

But Vader escaped off his crippled ISD in the last remaining tie advanced on board.

The AF program was ad hoc changes to the dreadnought class cruiser the AF Mk1 more closely resembled the dreadnought which has a crew of around 16K with a min of around 8K the AF MK2 is what we get and has less crew but has more Mon cal designs and equipment in it so it requires less crew for the equipment.

If I was to do this game over, I'd have damage be wayy more interactive. The ship would list and begin to burn as its "crippled". So instead of being destroyed, it stays on the table. you'd have to deploy rescue squadrons and **** to save some crew. When taking damage, you'd target certain zones, like the engine, or the command tower, or decks 13-15. And then you'd get damage that would be like: deck 15 breach, lost 50 crew.

I'd probably make that game a little simpler too. Much less delayed effects like crits and defense tokens and stuff. Some sort of simpler attack/range/los thing. anyway.

So wait, we are playing a game in the present time, that influences a past timeline, and allows of to control (and kill) people from a long time ago.

STAR WARS ARMADA TIME MACHINE CONFIRMED! Start spelling out words with ships arranged into letters! Maybe we can inform the empire of the rebel's plans before they blow up the second death star! We can change history!

The Empire was fully aware of the Rebels plans. It didn't help.

could be that is the minimum crew and for ISD you also counted their stormtroopers.

Nah - The ISD has about 29K~ Crew and a Compliment of 7K Troopers. I fudged both of them into each other with minimal troopers since we're all naval engagements.

I have a CR90 in my list soley to mop up escape pods.

yeah those numbers are way off, I base my numbers off the old info not weird new stuff. Also I think for some you listed troop complements instead of crew from wookiepedia. But needless to say you left 15k people off that ISD figure once you factor in army and stormtrooper complements. Also I wish they had a more fleshed out system for crippled ships ie not just cards that randomly happen but based on how much hull integrity is left. Because if hull is under 50% integrity not only are loads of systems and crew gone, more crew are going to be considering hitting the pods
