Upsilon-class command shuttle

By Hantheman, in X-Wing

The Upsilon-class command shuttle seems to have it's height revealed. At 37.2m tall fully extended it's possible that it gets a mini in the game..

Yes please!

That's smaller than I was thinking. So maybe it could be in standard play. Not sure how FFG would handle the extendable/foldable wing structure.

Or nerf scale it down like the poor YV

They wouldn't handle the extension. It's just not feasible at model scale.

They could still handle the folding though. See the Lambda Shuttle.

It'll be a pain to store. need model and I could dig getting a kylo crew

I'm picturing Kylo, Hux, and Phasma crew at a minimum, though pilots would probably by non-unique generics a la the FO. Maybe if they wait a few waves we'll have more to go on.

It looked really big flying but in the scene in which it was landed and people were boarding it, it didn't really look that huge. (No spoilers plz on the scene)

The scale in the game is the canonical scale that it appears in Clone Wars. So this is the official size, unfortunately.

I think it is doable to model the shuttle:

The wing hinge is more or less the same as the Lambda.

The wing extension can be theoretically made by having the wings be on the side in two or even three layers and unfold up. It will not look like the shuttle does in the movie, but it would be possible to store the ship.

With shapeways being as easy as it is to use expect people to start making their own models soon : )

There's a Revell model kit that shows the cockpit as being really shallow and with only two seats...

So how do you fit a Bandit inside of one? Do the wings fold up like a Corsair?

I'd assume The Pups's wings collapse. It's supposed to be modified in some way anyway, makes sense.

This appears to be consistent with the Incredible Cross-Sections book.

The hound's tooth is a bit of a mess scale-wise.

Originally, it was much larger. big enough that having a Z-95 inside of it wasn't a problem.

Then someone working on Clone Wars screwed up and depicted it much smaller, either they made a mistake or didn't care about the previously established size.

Then Disney declares film depictions canon and old EU legends, so suddenly, the smaller size now has to be canonical, despite the fact that the Pup no longer makes sense.

I suspect, if it ever comes up in the new canon, that it'll end up being the Pup docked to the Tooth on the outside, like the fighters on the Gozanti.

the same way you can have a grappeling hook not be gigantic and still have a long cable.

Don't worry about it.
