Hey all, I know that this is kinda a stupid question on my part, but is there a Treasure Hunter career or specialization? I could have sworn that I saw it in one of the Edge of The Empire supplements, but I don't recall which one... or even if it exists for that matter. lol.
Treasure Hunter Career or Specialization?
Nah. How about Archaeologist? (Explorer book)
I always steer people to Doc, the Weasel 's stuff:

Edited by Col. OrangeMy treasure hunter has the Smuggler career and the Scoundrel, Archaeologist (from Enter the Unknown), and Gunslinger (from Fly Casual) specializations. He's kind of a ne'er-do-well treasure hunter in the vein of O'Connell from The Mummy.
(And asking about how to work your character concepts are never dumb questions.)
Yeah, I could see Scoundrel and Archaeologist working very well in tandem for a "treasure hunter" type of character. Whether you start with Explorer or Smuggler depends on what sort of background the character had. A more shady/mercenary type, someone only in it for the money, would probably start Smuggler/Scoundrel, while someone a bit more altruistic or scholarly would start with Explorer/Archaeologist instead.
@Col.Orange Thanks! The link is VERY informative!
@RLogue177 I know, but I was trying to recall if there was a career of it. lol. I know in WoTC's Star Wars books there is a class for it, but I need to make it a career using builds in the book. lol. I had a idea of a fertile Selonian male treasure hunter who while having force abilities doesn't use them due to not having proper training. kinda someone like Nathan Drake/Indiana Jones.
fertile Selonian? How did he leave the den?
I could also see thief as a part of a treasure hunter.
No need for a custom career, just cross spec where needed and pick up Force Sensetive Exile, it's considered a career spec for everyone.

The idea I had was that a off-worlder that was there on business and ended up sneaking him out of his cell and den one night after the Queen had gone to sleep and there were few guards. the off-worlder petty much taught him all that he knows.

I understand that, I have the EoTE and FaD books, but knowing my GM in the group he would have us either take the Force Sensetive Exile career spec at creation or have us find the Valley of the Jedi in a later adventure. but I'll probably choose that as the starting career.

I am more than likely going to go thief at one point, lol. I always enjoyed playing the pilot.

You do know that male selonians are drastically weaker and shorter than the female counterparts? It's like with insects. They are short, fat and weak.
If you and your GM are okay with this, but I can't shake the mental image of that fat stumpy otter on two legs, who's horny all the time.
Actually go with it! Sounds like hilarity ensues!

I know that, lol. but I'm one of those player's who can turn a wimp into someone useful. and yes, they may be short, fat and weak, as well as horny. But, they have good things about them.

You have won my GM heart. If you really wanna stick with the concept and make it funny and be taken serious at the same time, I would personally award you with a gift if you were in my group.
That has only happened once so far in my time as a GM. With a guy playing a Law Enforcement droid who had his programming tinkered with...
Sounds like a great character idea and you have Obligation Family as they are trying to get you back

Or I'm trying to secretly find the Den Queen. I have way too many idea's. lol.

Thank you! I normally do my best to make interesting and fun character's that can be taken seriously. though when it comes to diplomatic and bluffing stuff, I usually fail at it. lol.

Hurrah! i look forward to hearing his adventures among the stars
Okay, so it has been a good while since I was last here, but, I have an update...
The GM for the current Star Wars campaign is going to be taking a break once the Original Trilogy Era ends since most of the group are going to be fairly new to this system. I am going to be making Dirk Thistlebritches as a NPC and see how the combo specs feel to me. I am going to be working more on the campaign once I finish up the first book in my Pathfinder campaign setting that I am working on. but that's for a different forum.
I am simply updating you all as it goes, I plan on recording all the sessions of my EOTE campaign once it gets running and will post them in links here on the EOTE forum's.
