Rules reference p.5 :
Effects with a command icon as a header, such as
“[Maneuver]:,” can be resolved once while
the ship
is resolving
the matching command.
So, no.
I guess Ive been using Adar Tallon wrong my entire gaming sessions then...
Yes, you have
...because Adar isnt ship specific either, and can be used by any ship on the table, not just the ship he's on.
He's very much ship-specific, just like every single other upgrade card with the exception of commanders.
Then another argument breaks out not 10 seconds later stating when another ship reveals a squadron command, but once again, "no no, you cant use Yavaris' text" ...
They're right. You can't.
There are cards/titles that SPECIFICALLY state "When this SHIP etc etc" .. Yavaris does NOT state this.
Yes it does - they all do, it's part of the definition of the command icon on a card.
Anyone got an official ruling on this someplace? Cause I cant find it anywhere.
See previous post.
Another thing, just speaking in a logical sense, how come commanders (who have a global effect) cost so much more than any of these cards, if they also have a global effect?
Why did you edit out your question in the original post? Those of reading after your edit have no idea what the thread is about and leaving your question helps others with the same question.
For the record, the original question was specifically whether Han Solo could benefit from Yavaris when activated at the start of the ship phase ("as if it had been activated by a Squadron command"). More generally, the OP was uncertain whether the Squadron symbol on the Yavaris card was a global or ship-only ability.
