I just got the FA starter and Imperial aces as an early Xmas gift. Any suggestion for a squad build or do I need to get a few more ships? I will eventually have Slave 1 (I'm a huge Boba Fett fan) and am also partial to the bounty hunters/scum. Not much of a fan of the lightside.
New to the game, any suggestions for a squad?
TIE fighter swarm of the basic variety, requires you to buy as many TIE fighters as possible. This for example.
Edited by killakanA few more ships would certainly help. For now your best bet is probably two generic tie/fos and two named interceptor pilots with PtL. The interceptors you ideally want to make use of boost and barrel roll so you stay out of your opponents arcs, but still get to shoot them. Slave 1 would open up your options a bit for sure. And depending on how much money you're looking to spend, may be wise at least at the start to pick one or the other between scum and imperials.
Considering you haven't got much, this is what I would run:
Carnor Jax w/ push the limit, royal guard title, hull & shield upgrades = 36
Tetran Cowell w/ push the limit, royal guard title, hull & shield upgrades = 34
2 epsilon pilots = 15 x 2
100
Its not going to win any tournaments, but you can learn a lot of the nuances of the game with a list like this, so its a good one to learn with. The epsilons go in front and try to block enemy movements. To block, simply think about where you think your opponent wants to move to, and set your dial to the same spot (sometimes you need to use your barrel roll action to get there, so don't forget you have it for that extra mobility!). Because the Epsilon has Pilot Skill 1, it moves first. Then when the opponent moves his ship, it can't fit in the same spot, so it 'bumps' and loses its action. Ships that lose their actions are much easier to destroy and tend not to hit at you as hard.
And by forcing your opponent to bump into your epsilons, you can get Carnor Jax in behind the enemy at range 1 to activate his ability. Once there, try to keep him close to enemy ships following on their tails. Interceptors do much better when they are behind the enemy than in front.
As for Tetran Cowell, he's not ideal, but with what you have, he will have to do. Don't worry about his ability. Being able to change your k-turn is not very useful on an interceptor (unless you are running a cheaper generic one). Just take him because he can get push the limit and use that.
Good luck and welcome to the game!

You could swap tetran out for a generic royal guard pilot (they can have push the limit too), wich will save you enough points to put weapons guidance on one of the epsilons. If the point is not using tetran's ability, you might as well switch to a generic. (unless you really want that PS 7)
Seeing you have imperial aces, i would suggest your next purchase is the interceptor expansion pack, wich will give you the soontir fell pilot option, wich is considered as the best interceptor. If you get slave 1 too, you can equip him with a stealth upgrade.
Got some Xmas money and bought the Slave 1. For the time being, I'll probably go with Imperials/FO for now and expand into Scum later.
Reading other forums, I'm seeing Mauler and Dark Curse listed a lot in Slave squads. Where do I find them? Is there some place that lists all the pilots/upgrades and what ship they come with?

The card browser is great, and will ultimately cost you lots of money.
Mauler and Curse both come from the original Core set.

Their is an app I use called startactics. That has a nice list building app.
Edited by HistoryGuyWith the limited ships and cards I have these are my two potential squads:

TieFO Epsilon Leader/Weapons Guidance
